http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Henrique-Ganso-wanted-Tottenham.html?ITO=1490 Tottenham are hoping to sign Brazilian attacking midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso in January as Andre Villas-Boas continues to reshape his squad. Spurs were frantically busy throughout the summer transfer window right up to deadline day - when they missed out on what would have been a club record £22million signing of Joao Moutinho. Moutinho, whose move stalled over personal terms, would have been a direct replacement for Luka Modric - who has departed for Real Madrid - but Villas-Boas has now switched his attention to 22-year-old Ganso, according to the Daily Mirror. The Santos star has fallen out with his club after requesting a move in the summer, and although any deal would be complicated by third-party ownership of the eight-cap international, it is thought his services could be acquired for around £8m. Ganso's constantly being linked with loads of clubs. Going back to a couple of years ago when he was really highly rated to now, where he's had a few form and injury issues. As usual though they can't get the positions right, he'd be no kind of 2nd choice if we don't get Moutinho(as I too expect) but if what little I saw of him before his injuries is anything to still go by he'd be an exciting signing.
The only problem with a Ganso or even e Damiao type signing in January is they'll be knackered after a long campaign in Brazil and probably no use nor ornament til the beginning of May at the earliest!
£8m? I'm sure he was being touted around for £20m+ when Utd were interested. Or was that someone else? To be honest, dealing with these brazilian clubs sounds like its more hassle than its worth
What worries me about Ganso is that only 18 months ago, he was being touted alongside Neymar as one of the next best things and that Santos valued him at £20m+. Now reports are saying that we could nab him for £8m-£10m and also I saw an article a few months back where he was considering leaving Santos to join Internacional. I'm not saying either club are bad but it makes me wonder why all of a sudden his price has dropped massively and instead of being linked with Man Utd/ Inter/ Real Madrid, he's now been linked with Internacional and us... Not filled/ filling his potential perhaps? Think it might be too much of a risk bringing him in. No doubt has amazing talent/ potential but if he's not setting Brazil alight at the moment I can't see how he'll come over to England/ Europe and adapt quickly enough.
Hmm. I might try and buy him for Port Vale. However, I'll have to work my way up to the EPL before I can screw that kind of money out of my board and sponsors. I already have quite a good squad, following my playing PV to promotion to Div 1. I'm currently top of that Div, with every prospect of gaining promotion to the Championship, this season.
Niang's value will probably be sky high by then, as he's on the radar of a few clubs in the first season. I use him as an Ade replacement, playing him in cup games and as a sub when we're cruising, to replace him when he returns to City at the end of his loan. A lot of Caen players get snaffled up early, usually by the moneybags clubs.
