Seeing as we now have reached the promised land whatever happens, and Mike will have to wait at least another 2 years for our inevitable return to league one why not start Chris Martin vs Coventry? Might as well give Holt a rest and not risk aggravating his hamstring and give Super Chrissy a chance as he'll need game time if he is to figure in our plans in the future!
Sounds like a good plan, maybe give Holty half an hour so he can get his well deserved standing ovation. What do you think?
In 2 minds about this as an idea. As much as I would like to see Chris Martin get on the field again, I also would like to see Norwich absolutely stuff Coventry and end the season with an almighty bang. I am hopefull this will happen as the team should be totally relaxed with nothing to play for other than pride but I am certain they would also like to go out with a bang. Perhaps if we can get a 2 goal lead then introduce him. I am not knocking Chris but he has not played for a long time now and there is a very, very good partnership up front now with Holt & Jackson.
Yeah if it was me I would play him for half the game, just for the run out, I would also rest Holt and maybe bring him on for Chris in the second half.
Bet it can't get much better for Holt at the Minute to be going into the Premiership and also getting the Thrill of a child, Unbeatable.
Russell Martin said in an interview about not wanting to be celebrating after a defeat like last year on the final day; and I would think that Lambert will probably start with the same team that has done so well over these last few games. However, he'll probably send three on for a run out in the second half.( Also, then we get 3 more standing ovations)
Say QPR are docked 3 or 5 points. I would want us to try and go and win the title on merit. In which case we would field the strongest possible team. That said, it would be great to have the three standing ovations for Holty, Hoolahan and say Tierney and bring on Korey, C. Martin and Adam Drury for the end of the game.
They all deserve a standing ovation, every single player has played a massive part this season. I have been really impressed with Ward, especially as his fitness has improved as the season progressed. I was gutted to see Barnett get injured, but Whitbread came in and played fantastically. Every single goal contributed to our promotion, think of all those games where we were heading for a draw or defeat and we turned it around. Pure heart that bunch, pure heart!
