After todays performance how would you set up against Liverpool: Would you like to see us play as if were at home and go with Michu upfront and three wingers interchanging like how we played against QP,ha, or should we play a more defensive counter attacking game plan like how we play the big teams. I would like for us to hit them hard shock them and get an early goal and then sit back and park the bus. (ok it can be boring but it is effective) I don't think BR will have a plan b and if we can frustrate the KOP then this will act as our 13th man. My team line up ...................Michu.................. ..WR.............PH.................ND ........KI..................JDG.......... BD.........AW..........KB...........AR ...................Vorm................... After half time if we do go up then sub a winger for KA as a CDM.
fair point but, injuries can happen in any game. i would prefer if we go to Wembley with a big win behind us.
Bearing in mind Wembley I would leave Michu at home. Also because of Chico I would leave Ash home too. Rest a few others on top because this game is insignificant next to the final and also because we're on 37 points too.
A win would put us 4 points clear of them and better goal difference! Will take a draw though with the week after in mind.
Shocked a little by today's result. Just goes to show that Liverpool have been punching above their weight, while WBA have struggled since we beat them but have what it takes to go away and win emphatically without dominating possession. We play our normal game - a dress rehearsal for the final. When players back off is when they get hurt so we go there to win. The line-up against QPR is one I like, but I want to see it tested against stronger opposition - Liverpool provide an interesting test.
I agree with you to some extent Yankee, but if we play all our wingers (3) like we did with QPR, then are we pushing it for the Cup final? Bradford are no mugs, yes Villa were awful, but they swept Arsenal aside too, they have a significant Aeriel threat which we need to nullify, and we need our best fresh, we have fresh legs in the squad for Liverpool, I'm thinking Laudrup might try the same tactics as the Arsenal FA cup game, where we tried to defend deep all game, and came unstuck in the dying minutes! I feel we should rest as many as possible, end of story!.................... PS: Just checked the fixture list, we have a 7 day rest after the Liverpool game, didn't realise that, so I'm changing my mind, we should go at them from the off, same setup as QPR, agree with you Yankee! By the way do you realise we have had 12 Draw games already this season!!!.......
I appreciate I'm firmly in the minority here but here goes... I'd go all out for the win at Anfield. We have an opportunity to put 4 points between us and them and every league place is worth a lot of money to the club. Full week to recover. Would be a freak game if 2 or more players got injured and the squad is strong enough to cope. In reality though, there is a 95% + chance that the same XI could start both games. They have a game on Thursday that is a must win also so I'd play; -------------Vorm----------------- Rangel---Bartley--Ash---B.Davies ------------JDG--Ki---------------- Dyer-----Hernandez---Routledge ------------Michu------------------ against a, likely, knackered Liverpool XI and cement us a top 8 place.
Fair points there Terrorwit, your in agreement with yankee and so am I, and we all know how much you'd like to stuff the scousers!........... please log in to view this image
My two teams Liverpool: ...................Michu.................. ..WR.............PH.................ND ........KI..................JDG.......... BD.........AW..........KB...........AR ...................Vorm................... Wembley: ...................Michu.................. ..WR.............JDG.................ND ........KA................KI............... BD.........AW..........GM...........AR ................Tremmel................. Monk on for his experience and Kemmy for physical reasons also done a good job at settling the game down against QP,Ha
I think we should play an offensive game against them with as many shots on target as possible to test them, and hopefully shock and intimidate thier defence. With the great running wingers weve got and michu sucking in the central defenders holes will appear ? It would be better than playing defensively letting them play in our half most of the time with suarez diving in our box throughout the game !
Allen has ridden the bench for at least the last two games. Bloom off the rose? What's going on there?
Agree with you all lads go for it from the start if some of the guys look tied take them off as long as we are in front, if we should be loosing by say 2goals rest michu , pablo . Routlage. 7th spot is ours for the takeing, and Rogers would be seeing Red not Green.
Hey guys, Luke Moore is going start the game and is going to score the only goal of the game. Mark my words. As for Allen being benched? That is probably because he has had next to no rest but Liverpool do have options in midfield with Lucas being back, I feel sorry for Suarez in respect to the fact that the man has had to play non-stop and cannot be benched like other players. The good news about that is Suarez could be feeling the heat of a long slog of the season so far. True Factz.... All the strikers in the league have been slowing down in the scoring with Gareth Bale being the one and only exception, Suarez was the top scorer but now he is behind Van Persie. All those games might be wearing him down so lets hope that helps us.
I would start the best team possible and try and get a few goals against a tired Liverpool, with a full week until the final i would not worry too much about rest, at the very most make some early subs where needed. I would like to see Lamah having a full game at one point though he looks very pacy and maybe this could be one for him.
Judging by last night the Secret Squirrel can still do a great dive though. Pathetic. I'd go all out for a win at Anfield - because I would always go all out for a win in every game. Lucky I'm not the Manager I suppose. I actually think Laudrup will play us deep and our attacks on goal will be limited to breaks when he'll be telling the players to do it quickly. May work (Chelsea) but may not (Arsenal). I also think he'll play a reasonably strong team. Just a feeling.
