Any GoT fans on here? Season 5 starts tonight and I can't bloody wait!

Probably the best show on tv at the moment for me, and one of the best I have ever seen, it's just brilliant. I didn't think I'd even be the slightest bit interested in it when it first came out, dungeons and dragons has never really been my thing but I have to say I was blown away by how utterly fantastic the show is - the characters and performance are out of this world (literally) - and not having read the books I can't wait for find out how the new season is going to pan out and which key character is going to be mercily bumped off next.

Rather looking forward to seeing more of Daenerys as well ;)

Yep, I'm a fan. I got hooked on the first series when it came out and then later ended up reading the books. Personally I'd say the books are probably even better if you enjoy that sort of fiction with acres of detail, but what the TV series does so brilliantly is actually get away from the books without being unfaithful by being the axe-wielding editor that Martin arguably needed from a storyline perspective (though fan(atic)s will probably disagree).

It means both the books and the series stand alone.

    Very keen on Daenerys too...

Apparently the first 4 episodes have already been leaked online.

And by apparently I mean I've already watched the first 4 episodes because I have no self control!

Going to binge watch the first 4 tonight. TV series is good, but I don't think you can beat the books. Interesting to see they're going to diverge.

I started reading the books but got bored halfway through the third; personally, the TV series is much better - although the extra detail in the book does help to begin with!

I've already seen the first episode of the fifth series. Trying to resist watching the other three but the above posts have pushed me to my limit already!

I'm going to restrain myself and watch them as they broadcast each week. I really cannot wait though. Extraordinarily good TV.

I thought about doing that, then decided to watch them all now (halfway through ep3...) then again when broadcast.

I'm just going to keep watching them over and over until I have a new episode to watch. Apparently there is the chance that all ten will be online within the week. While that'd be awesome, it is a little annoying as we've been waiting 10 months for the new episodes, if they were all oven in a week, as awesome as the show is, I'd feel a small amount of disappointment.

    I've read all the books.

How much will you pay me to not spoil it for you?

There's still a couple that haven't been covered by the TV Series yet!

To be fair, I like the books and the TV Series equally. The TV Series is a bit 'fast and loose' with some of the details included in the books, but I sort of see them as two separate stories in a way.
