I would be happy if we signed Agbonlahor he did well under O`Neill but we would still need a someone to partner him up front Gabby & Fletcher would be canny.

Gabby linked with Black Cats move
    by Setanta Staff , 05 June 2012
Sunderland: Elmohamady set for Hammers Sunderland: Huth on Black Cats radar Sunderland: Ji tipped for top Martin O'Neill could make a summer bid for Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor, who could leave Villa Park if Grant Holt joins.

O'Neill knows Agbonlahor well from their time together at Villa Park and believes he could be available for transfer if new Villa chief Paul Lambert signs Holt from his old club Norwich.

West Ham are also keen on Holt but the 31-year-old is said to favour a move to Villa to again team up with Lambert and, if a deal goes through, then Agbonlahor is likely to be surplus to requirements.

That has apparently alerted Black Cats boss O'Neill, who got the best out of the England international during his tenure in the West Midlands.

The 25-year-old managed double figures in terms of goals in three successive seasons under O'Neill, but has struggled since his exit and has only struck eight times in two seasons.

It is thought Agbonlahor would be keen on a move to the north east if the package was right and he would welcome working under O'Neill again.

Not a pair to be feared, Green Arrow (who has now come out in the comic world) and Iwantahor fast and no goals, probably played on the right so bye bye Campbell?

Huth would be a worldie signing for us.

He may be a dirtbag, but he's quality, and if he was our dirtbag, we'd love him <ok>

I thought we should have been in for Huth when he went to Stoke. He's a decent defender and always seems to bang a few in. I would'nt be disappointed if we signed him up.

Deffo not mate, I think he'd become a real favourite.

He is an excellent defender, he is tough, bordering on dirty, but he is effective, and as you say gets the odd goal.

We need to be more physical, the likes of Huth and Diame will start the ball rolling nicely on it.

I would like us to go in for Samba as there are rumours he's sick of the racial abuse he's getting in Russia, I think he would give us some of the same toughness that Huth would offer just younger and better. But I know it could be a big unrealistic as he's will be on a shed load of cash out there, but I still think we should try and get him and not just take it that he would knock us back. He also gets his fair share of goals, but I would take Huth otherwise

I am a big fan of Agbonlahor and would be over the moon if we got him.

Its also reported in the Sunderland Echo which generally does not bulls**t so could be true.

He would be awesome leading the line, has a mint shot and pace. Under MON I think he can easily get 15+ goals a season.

With regards to Huth I would have him. Like everyone has said above he is strong, border on dirty but thats what we need. However where would that leave Brown & Oshea??

In all fairness Oshea played more matches than I expected. I think Brown should be fine, it was a horrible fall he had against Man City.

Well I don't think he is. If you want headless chicken look at Campbell & Ji.

Agbonlahor is not a headless chicken. He runs the line well, has an amazing shot on him, and working with the right manager in the ST position can easily score 15-20 goals.

53 goals in 216 games isn't great. 8 in the past 2 seasons - added price due to him being English. I'd avoid at all costs!

Please bare in mind that last 2 seasons he has had terrible managers, Houllier and McCleish who for some reason played him on the RW..

Under MON he banged double figures often - which we didn't do last season. The added English won't put the price up, that only happens for Liverpool...

I reckon we can get him for about 8-10 million.

Never ever liked the vile specimen known as Agbonlahor, the disgraceful cheat

Imo Frazier could be used as a similar player with a better shot ability and money could be better spent getting someone else such as

    Floro Flores
    Rodellega
    Yakubu

Well how is he a disgraceful cheat and a vile specimen. I could say the same think about Bramble....

IMO Frazier will be gone in a couple of seasons. I'm happy for the guy coming back from an injury, however I don't think he is good enough for a top 8-10 team.
