I'm hearing a lot of rumours that Gabbidon is going back to Cardiff in January.
Does anyone on here know any more on this?

If this is true, then we must be making way for 2 or 3 CB's coming in January.

Two or three CBs? Wow. We can hardly cope with the one we've got!

Oh... I get it now... you're talking about centre backs!!

    Lol!!!!!

I'd let him go, but only if we get at least 2 of Ridgewell, Onhoua (sp?) Samba, Bridge or a good loan signing.....

Bassong, Samba and Onuoha would be marvellous.

I can't, in a million years of getting used to our fortunate financial position, see us getting 3 CBs in a January transfer window.

Gabbidon has done OK in my mind (especially alongside Anton) and so I can't see any reason why we'd want him out. Also, he'd have to have a Bellamy-esque Welsh patriotic meltdown to ruin his Prem chance for the perennial playoff underachievers.

I agree Matt, Gabbidon's been good for us.
I've heard that he wants to finish his career where he started.
Surely not at the expense of playing in the Prem though.
Seems a bit premature for me.
Then, it might explain why Warnock left him out v Swansea.
It's all a bit bizzare down at QPR at the mo.
There is defineatly some strange goings on.

He's our best centre back, apart from Anton, so I'd be very surprised and frankly dismayed if we were to let him go!! Even if we get a couple of decent CBs in Jan (which we desperately need!), surely we'd need Gabbidon as cover?

The Cahill move to Chelsea is wobbling at the moment as they are only offering him £70k a week, I would fancy Spurs swooping for him which would give us a chance of both Samba and Bassong. Ridgewell could also cover CB position so Gabbidon may be surplus by the end of January...

All this talk about samba....why on earth would Blackburn sell him to a relegation rival? There are 10 other clubs they could sell him to before us. Utter rubbish.

Money talks. As you say, in an ideal world they wouldn't sell to us but the banks are breathing down their necks and they are about to default on a cash injection demanded to underwrite their overdraft...

I think that's right. There may not be 10 other clubs that will pay what we will. We're desperate for a Samba, and Blackburn are desperate for cash

Edit - Blackburn have just gone 1 -0 up against ManU! Won't last!

With Samba, I'm thinking offer a sum that they just can't refuse. 10-12mill should not only claim Samba for ourselves, but probably see Blackburn relegated. They've 10mill debt so they won't have enough to buy a better CB.

Heard Samba is on his way to white hart lane unfortunately, so reckon we'll be left with a leftover - Bassong!
