    Gökhan Töre on Liverpool's radar

    http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=3205

For those who aren't familiar with Tore, this kid was really highly rated as a Chelsea youth, he made a move to Hamburg last seasons, despite being out for much of the season with injury he still ended up having some of the best 'dribbling stats' in Europe, take that how you may!

Anyway getting to the point, Hamburg are bust, have put him up with an asking price of €5m.

This kid is a serious talent, 20 years old, perfect for Rodgers kind of style.

    What do you think?

There's a fair chance he'll go to Gala or somewhere else back in Turkey surely?

He's never played in Turkey, Turkish clubs want him and would be getting him at a steal at anywhere near €5m

Obviously its just a youtube clip but it shows what kind of player he is. An explosive winger, skilful, strong, fast, good cross. There's a lot to work with and great re-sale value for whoever gets him

depends on attitude. he could be another mark gonzalez or harry kewell... conversely at 5mil there might be a huge queue of clubs already waiting cos they know he'll be a 20mil player next year.

Does look like a decent acquisition... But, then, it's YouTube.

  7. Is it just me that is thinking "Chelsea fans would have a field day if we sign another one of their former youth players"...?

Edit: of course, if we did get him and both he and Borini turned out to be star players in the future, we'd be able to laugh our socks off right back at them <whistle>

not sure why? they have talent they already have in the youths, but they don't play them or give them enough of a chance.

they just like buying their way out of trouble, so wouldn't bother me if they think that.

Never heard of him, but it says on Wikipedia that he's an attacking midfielder/winger. Since I started supporting Liverpool in 1998 we haven't had a young pacy winger with good dribbling ability (unless you count Babel, which I don't). Wouldn't do us any harm signing him up imo as we could probably sell him on at a slight profit if it doesn't work out.

  10. Wasn't saying I'd be bothered, it would just make them believe they have a stick to beat us with <doh>

  12. Calm down pal, the <doh> was aimed at the potential Chelsea fans trying to use it as a weapon. I actually agree with you <ok>

0 goals in 22 games for Hamburg, is he another, albeit cheaper version of, Downing? The youtube video does not make him look good either, 1 assist and 1 goal when he was about 12? I would not want #LFC to sign him at all

He was injured for much of the season, this kid is very good on the ball, good acceleration, statistically was the best dribbler in Europe, not bad esp for the price and the problems on the wings.

  16. Couldn't this kid coming in hamper the development of Sterling, Suso and possibly Pacheco too?

IMO Tore is no longer a youth, he's played in the Bundesliga, he's already ready, don't be surprised if you hear his name linked with a big money move in 1-2 seasons he's got the makings of a very good player.

I reckon big time. I know lots of people say it, but we need to buy a top notch winger - left or right. We have all the promising youngsters, except an all out striker, maybe with Borini and Carroll we'll have the cover. But in order to help the younger guys and bring the best out of the whole team we need someone that can do a job immediately...

Gökhan Töre - not that person! Who is though?

True, but i was thinking someone more direct and pacey... I would however swap Aquilani, Adam or Joe Cole without thinking, in fact, maybe all 3 of them together!

    Reckon Walcott could cut it?
