The people at Athos Origin in Wilmslow who run the fixtures programme for the league have not been kind to us over the Christmas break. You would have thought that they could have priorotised a local fixture for Yeovil (Exeter Bournemouth or Bristol) rather than have our squad travel down,as they will probably have to, on Christmas day. The away match at the O's isn't to bad but the revenue the club will make from the Christmas period when lots of the day pass holders turn up, is likely to be minimised.
Yeovil was one of my target away games this season, but I'll be down in Dartford over Christmas and New Year - it's a shame to miss it, but then again standing in that wind tunnel of an away end in the middle of Winter...
It'll have to be a tent approved for use in the Himalayas, then - coldest ground I've ever been to, the wind turbine at one end's a dead giveaway - ironic, because the welcome's always very warm down there. Looks like Ducker's call to miss out Syria on his travels was a good one.
Oh. I can't imagine there being much call for holidays to Syria, although a good guide would probably be needed if you did go.
