If it’s gonna be months until people can go back to football then the clubs are gonna continue to lose out. It’s not just tickets, pies and pints. Lower projected shirt sales too will hit as we head into a recession too as football becomes less important. This will likely see a cooling of the transfer market at long last too. Sponsors won’t see the game as being as lucrative when they renegotiate and beyond that maybe the PL rights renegotiations wont yield as much for the members and so on and so forth. Basically Covid could really **** the PL the most. the big clubs who rely more on merchandise and match day income will be hit hard. great news. ****s.
I suppose nufc is in a better state than most clubs. I hope a few go bust that would be nice... There's got to be a few living on crazy debts with whopping wage bills
A lot of the lower league clubs will go bankrupt. No match income and sponsorship will seriously damage them.
There are too many professional clubs on this tiny island. **** for those affected but it wont be much of a loss if we lost some utter dross from the efl.
But they can sustain themselves. If the owner messes up by paying out more than is coming in how can you simply dismiss the effect that that has on others such as fans etc?
I don't know how any nufc fan could watch and basically participate in advertising the premiere league after this...
