Well worth keeping an eye out for Leverkusen next season with Sami Hyypia taking full charge of them: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22555747 I know he's only just been given full charge of the team but I believe that was only to do with Bundesliga rules on coaching qualifications and Lewandowski(not that one) has returned to his previous roles with the youth team, which kind of backs that up. Anyone that's watched Leverkusen this season will have seen Hyypia's influence in their defence, which is very, very solid, balanced with speed going forward but also those that can play the ball around well with a midfield that rotates getting forward to support. It's notable that Leverkusen are the only side to beat Bayern Munich in the league this season and if he can keep the majority of his players(Schurrle's off) I think they will continue to close the gap on the top 2. I might be biased because Leverkusen are the team I kind of follow in Germany but I think he's doing an excellent job there and in a style very suited to the Premier League. I know you guys are happy with Rodgers at the moment but he's definitely a future Liverpool manager, in my opinion. At very least it should give you a team to cheer on in the CL next season, sadly it looks like I'll be in the same boat only having Leverkusen to support in that competition next season
What?! It's not a wind up at all, I'll delete the last line if you want but it was only light hearted, I said I'll likely be supporting them in the CL too(on account of Spurs missing out).
He probably thinks its a wind-up because we have a manager that isn't going anywhere Hyypia is a good shout though, hope he does well and I'd certainly welcome him back if he proves to be good enough
It's a shame in a way that he went into management instead of coaching as he'd have been perfect to join under Rodgers to help solidify our back four. I hope he returns to LFC at some point if Rodgers doesn't work out, but BR gets my support still atm. Sami's a legend here though for many reasons. Fantastic guy, professional too, and his final Anfield game holds alot of memories for me - much like Carra's will do.
He's still young so it could well be a long way down the line after BR. Anyway, I always liked him too, top defender in his day.
BR's not exactly coming close to retirement either. I think it's one or the other in terms of young managers who could have potential to be a long term run at the helm, but not one to follow up the other - unless Rodgers really cocks up!
hope to see him back here one day, never got the recognition he deserved and very solid defender, and also quite lethal the other end in attack with both head and feet. shame we only offered him a 1yr ext, who knows what could have happened if he stayed, any way Brendan is the manager now and going no where,so he has my support, although i hope Sami does well in management though. they have any players we could have, need all the help we can get lol, we got Yesil from them didn't we?, but he got injured which was a shame looks quite good. guess we will see what he is like pre season, whether he gets a chance next season or not.
Nope, Hyypia was in charge for that game. Rodgers is the better choice of manager than Hyypia at this time
never, rodgers is a clown. Hyppia is a legend so between him and carragher (even though neither want the job) we'd have an awesome team...
no I'm just acting the cock... the trhead is a slight wind up at our lack of CL football cos Yid with respect to a great poster will not have given up on Spurs CL prospects at all yet.
