Taking the fact that AW's contract expires at the end of next season and Pep Guardiola' resignation from Barca (reportedly wanting to take a year out) it is just possible that for the season 2014/15 we could have AW as Director of football and Guardiola as manager.

    Far fetched or not?

A little far-fetched, I can see Arsene carrying on as manager for a few more years yet.

    1. Wenger will most probably sign another contract. I am not sure we actually wants the Director of football position. It will be a demotion for Arsene, sort of retirement.
    2. IF it happens, there will be two big personalities and a big question who is the boss. Wenger wants to be in full control, as well as Guardiola. I can not see them working in harmony even though they share the same philosophy.
    3. Guardiola stated that he always wanted short term deals and 4 years with one club is too much. Not good for Arsenal.
    4. Guardila will be offered 10 times more money by Abramovich.
    5. Wenger will most probably (did i mention it already) sign another 4 or 5 year contract.

Might be a little far fetched Tuffers, but sounds wonderful to me.

Wenger should get some new players for next season and see how he does. If he still can't win anything with these new players then im afraid, it'll confirm that he's past his best. We should go all out to get Pep then...
