Amazing how the youth of Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Spain grow up playing futsal (a small sided, indoor version of football) learning how ball control on tiny indoor pitches while the youth of England grow up playing football on a full sized mud bath kicking ten shades of **** out of each other and chasing balls in wild packs. We're never going to match them technically if the academies and youth teams don't introduce futsal into the training regimes of our young footballers. In Brazil it's more popular than football and they've produced some of the most technically gifted players in history (Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Garrincha ect) while we're still mad about physicality. With hardly no breathing space in futsal there learning how to improve their first touch, overall ball control and how to deal with defenders breathing down your neck while ours are learning how to chase balls on full sized pitches. Seems to be on the up though here, Derby's Will Hughes attributes playing futsal to his talents (been English is obviously why he was a dirty **** against us though )
