http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport...king-about-it-as-if-its-normal-20160314107131 A MAN has been casually mentioning his futsal league to confused colleagues. When asked about his plans for next week, Tom Logan repeatedly made reference to what he stressed was an important futsal fixture without offering any explanation of what futsal is and why he would be involved in it. Wayne Hayes said: “I always presumed Tom spoke with a bit of a lisp and was talking about football, but it seems there’s something called futsal that he does fairly frequently. “He talks about futsal as if it’s the most natural thing in the world when any normal person would believe it to be a sort of anti-fungal product. “Even though he seems to put on a tracksuit to perform this ‘futsal’ and it appears to take place in a sports hall I still strongly suspect it’s some kind of weird sex thing, like dogging, or korfball.” Workmate Emma Bradford said: “He told me he plays for England, but if that’s the case then why does he work in our office and still bring a packed lunch in with him?” ======================================================= Serious question, has anyone played futsal? My lad played it in a Winter break from academy football a couple of years back. Terrible game and nowhere near as good as 5 a side but because it's a trendy foreign football thingy it's crept it's way into UK footy. A campaign to ship it back off to brazil is needed.
Isn't futsal supposed to be very useful for developing technique and ball control? Maybe more of it might not be a bad thing?
Supposed to is right but there are parts of it that are not very good If you played 5 a side with a futsal ball then that would spot on.
What's the difference? I thought that it was basically five-a-side with a different ball. Must be something big, as Falcao's not **** in that version.
The court is smaller and the goals are like tall hockey goals. The play gets congested and possession is changed to often. Scoring is down to smashing it hard as there no room to place a ball it's more luck than accuracy as long as you hit the target. There are then silly rules about how you sub players and how the ball comes back into play. Keepers sometimes throw the ball the length of the court to a forward as overhead is allowed. It's truly terrible other than the ball.
I lived in Spain for a year and played it over there where it seems to be more popular. Mostly played in goal which is easier than indoor football. Very skilful game. A smaller, heavier ball so it's mostly on the floor.
Arrogant ****ter...are you saying I,can't read, why what makes you think I can't...I can, read a book last year, if you dont like your in the wrong place so fack off kant pikey!!.....!!
Not sure what you lads are talking about, but I have noticed that there's no sign of Pixie, here. Anyone know what's happened to him? There's a meltdown on the Arsenal board that needs to be moderated.
This is a picture of Arsene Wenger playing Beach Foosball. I've posted it specially for @Arsenal87 as he considers Wenger to be a very attractive man for his age. This is what Wenger was doing on transfer deadline day when Arsenal signed Danny Welbeck without Wenger's knowledge or approval.
Futsal is the reason the spanish are so good, all the kids play futsal in Spain, it's how they train them, far more sensible to use a ball that is 'scaled to size. Spain has a fairly good league, it's televised and includes teams made up of players from the professional football leagues. I used to go and watch it now and again when I lived in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. They had a fairly decent side back then and used to play against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, who would use squad members not involved in their first XI games or coming back from injury. It's a skillful game, probably why it isn't popular here, you can't hoof it to the kid that looks 20.
My experience is the opposite, my lad played in a Welsh Academy fustsal competition a good standard and to start with the lads were all dribbling and flicking the ball about until a team scored against them. From then on they closed the gaps quickly and thundered into challenges nobody could live with them and it was all about power strength and pace. I like the ball it makes sense but I feel that we should in this country adopt the ball and add it to 5 a side where the court is that little bit bigger and the goals wider to allow for a better game.
Isn't that kind of the point? The English league and youth development in this country is overpowered by the need for those attributes, often to the detriment of other other essential skills such as control, passing and ball retention. Anyone can have power and strength, pace either comes or it doesn't.
My point being that teams trying to play futsal were smashed into submission and that futsal just didn't work. It's fine if both teams are tapping it about and dribbling while the other team backs off but in the face of a high tempo it crumbled. I just don't rate it and feel a hybrid of our 5 a side game combined with futsal would be better as you can't go smashing your way around 5 a side as there's space to move the ball while still being able to show skill and dribbling. I'm not a fan that's clear and I don't like the way it's creeping into this country replacing 5 a side.
