The Everton game was a bad day at the office all round. Ming was **** again. (Strangely, even though I was dissappointed, I wasn't down hearted. The change in the team since MON has been here is phenomenal.) I was pleased when seeing MON interviewed, he wasn't making excuses and looked as if he was fuming inside. But what the hey! Even the best teams have off days. (And it was bloody Everton. ) The lads did us proud at Citeh! We deserved all 3 points, simple as that! But once again Ming was ****! His defenders on here will pile in and say I'm talking ****, but we all see things differently in football. To me he is a glamour keeper, makes easy saves look hard for the camera! A lot of people are buying it as he is our keeper! I agree with Roy Keane about THAT double save previous to Citeh, the first part of the save was what he would have expected any keeper to make. I would go further the ball was looping slowly and he could have collected the ball easily and not parried it away. His decision making is horrible, some of the early saves were embarrassing. One I recall clearly, was a soft freekick straight at him chest high. ANY other Prem keeper would have collected the ball to his chest and prepared to throw out to get us on the break. For some strange reason he chose to bend his knees and punch the ball back into play! His positional play for Citehs goals was again crap, and I have said this before he just doesn't look mobile enough. (FFS they weren't screamers that he had no chance with.) He was rooted to the spot and made no effort what so ever, to get to the ball, even though they were only a couple of feet away. I believe our other two keepers would have at least got a hand to the ball. Turner was once again an out and out liability. His manhadling of players is going to cost us big time if we aren't careful. (Especially in the box.) But he has no option but to hang onto the oppos as he is too slow for anything else. He just doesn't read the game very well either. Once again this "wonderful" header of the ball was woeful, I could have headed the ball out further than him, which led to Citehs third. Every player makes mistakes now and then. IMHO these two make far to many on a regular basis. On the plus side our midfield looks balanced and look to go forward rather than backwards. (Which keeps unwanted pressure off our defence.) Gardner and Catts look like they could handle anyone at the moment. Vaughan is definitely too light weight if there is a physical battle in there. Larsson has been getting stick I know, but he puts in a hell of a shift off the ball. Never gives anything but 100% and his passion is very evident. His effort to get in the box for his goal was a joy to watch. (Take note Nic! ) McClean is getting better and better, he is still learning his trade. Hopefully he will learn soon, that laying the ball off, or playing in the likes of Bridge on the overlap can be just as effective as his whipped in crosses. Sess! Bloody hell get him tied long term as soon as possible. Bendtner! Keep getting in the box bonny lad, thats where strikers make their name. I would rather you bust a gut to get in there, rather than chasing back when you lose the ball. I'm more upset at us not taking the 3 at Citeh than our cup exit, to be honest. Before the game I would have snatched your hand off for a draw. It was a game we definitely deserved all 3.
I see we are getting done again for the man city game 'crowding of Dowd' fiasco and probably a £40,000 fine (does that go to charity ?) i will be watching Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc in the next few weeks to see if they get away with it.
cant see why we don't appeal and submit video evidence showing, Man U, Chelsea,Spuds BIN DIPPERS, they all do it, if your going to punish it must be across the board
Totally agree Roger. Also goes for putting out your best 11 players, MickMack got done yet other teams don't.
