A big blow - that's 3 of our strikers who are now absent through injury (Haynes, Kermo and RF). We really aren't having the same fortune as last season, I remember Stephens having an injury but otherwise we pretty much had a settled team all season. Least we forget that Wiggins is out also. I really hope when all players are back and fighting fit that it will serve as a catalyst to push on and improve our league standing.
Button - GK Solly - RB Cort - CB Morrison CB Evina - LB Kerkar - LM Hollands - CM Razak - CM Wilson - RM Hulse - CF BWP - CF That side will do for me. Elland Road tomorrow night. COYR!
I'd like GK - Hamer RB - Solly CB - Cort CB - Morrison LB - Evina RM - Green CM - Razak CM - Hollands CM - Stephens LM - Kerkar ST - Hulse
I was talking to Haynes on Saturday morning he will be fit for next Saturday but tomorrow night may be a bit early
Team to play dirty Leeds 4-4-1-1 Hamer Solly,Morrison,Cort,Evina Wilson,Razak,Stephens,Kerkar Green Hulse
Why on earth we send Wagstaff out on loan is unbelievable. We need him back, as he's actually one of the few players we had that had Championship experience before the season started. He's a better player than Danny Green any day, and the fact that he connects well with Chris Solly makes him a better choice.
Same here Ponders. Look at the 'Match Facts' (sic) on this preview - the BBC can't decide whether we're at home or not - words fail me. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19958314
Agree I would be playing Waggy, even if he is a little unpredictable with his final ball, he gives "110%" But with no game time coming his way, its better to be playing league one than sitting on the bench watching what we are producing at the moment. CP shouldn't be guaranteeing anyone a starting berth but he should be giving the rest of the squad hope that they may get on. For Waggy & Evina that does not seem to be the case. Come on Chris give it a shake up, from recent performances we have nothing to lose & a lot to gain.
I more or less agree with that instead I think there is not enough tackle power in midfield so I would include Hollands instead of Green and let Razak and Stephens venture forward more to support Hulse. Stephens is a liability anywhere near our own penalty area with his over-casual passing. I would always include Hollands if fit, at least until we sign a similar but better player. Maybe Andy Hughes could challenge for that position when fit but we have no-one else, even in the stiffs. I think Green has had his chance and muffed it. Wilson looks a better bet at RM, especially away at Leeds. If I were going to play another striker to support Hulse it would be BWP rather than Green, but I would start with the 4-5-1 I have described. Which Charlton will turn up? If we play the same as against Barnsley we could get hammered. If the same as against Blackpool we have every chance of a point. But I backed CP's selection against Barnsley and expected a win. And I applauded the fact of his early substitutions only to finish the match with ten men. So what do I know?
It's not going to be long before we get a 5-0 spanking if we don't sort it out. I'm predicting that it'll be Cardiff at home. I really hope that won't be the case, though like we are finding out, our Midfield is the problem.
5 goal hammering at home that has sheds of par dew about it I hope not...BWP must start he's a goal threat I'd pick him to start every game
From where I sit I can't actually remember the last time Stephens had a good game, the sort of game Perkins had on Saturday. Our midfield is our soft centre and he's been ever-present.
To be fair, Perkins is a different breed of midfielder. He sits in front of that back four and uses his energy and pace to break play down, where as dale is more "cultured" in his approach.
What I did notice was that when Barnsley had the ball in midfield we dropped back onto our own defenders yet when we had the ball in midfield the Barnsley players attacked the ball in pairs!
