Hope we get through, dev. What a home game that would be ! The Cherries have made some big signings in the last few days - two strikers for £16 million, and an Argentinian winger on loan from Roma !
If we beat Ipswich at Fratty, then it will be a sell out, so attendance for the Ipswich replay would appear mandatory if you want a ticket(s) for the fourth round , provided we can extend Ipswich again and they rest some players again! PUP
Hopefully Ipswich will play the same weakened side. However, after the performance at Portman Road I reckon they'll put a stronger XI out next week.
You boys played really well at Portman Road and I expect another really tough game tomorrow. If the stats are to be believed you havent beaten us at Fratton Park since 1966! Records though are made to be broken!

Well done Pompey, you still can't "concentrate on the league" just yet and a big game for you with Bournemouth being next. Another one on Saturday v Oxford as well. Would you swap a run in the cup for a better one in the league???
Superb performance by Pompey. Totally outplayed Ipswich from start to finish. Gary Roberts was excellent for us, but every player performed well. Our second goal was a lovely header from Marc McNulty from a superb cross by Gareth Evans. Ipswich scored from their only shot on target, and it was an excellent goal from Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is on loan from Arsenal. Bring on Bournemouth for the south coast derby
We all know we aren't going to win the cup, we should be out in the next round - but it's a huge confidence boost for the whole squad..... and a bit of a budget boost for Paul Cook as well. Made the fans pretty happy too. If we fail to get out of this league though I can imagine the players will be even more disappointed than the fans will be tbh. Still, 21 games still to go.
With a large squad an extra cup tie may assist in giving more players game time and keeping them match fit. Current bench players may become critical to getting out of the division with injuries and suspensions. I suspect Pompey have an advantage over other promotion contenders in have strength in depth beyond their best 12-13 players.
I think every set of supporters would choose both if they could but we all know you can't have that unless you are mega rich. I have to say I do raise an eyebrow and have a wry smile when I read stuff like "extra revenue" for the Manager. I doubt anyone would believe you are strapped in this league now and would believe you don't already have a budget that far exceeds others. It may not be true but it certainly doesn't look that way. Have a look at the attendance at Accrington on the same night you played Ipswich. 1200 give or take and that's the first at home since November. How they even keep going amazes me let alone compete. Anyway best of luck with Bournemouth.
Will Eddie Howe make the same changes to his team as he did against Birmingham? If he does and we beat Bournemouth's reserve team the Bournemouth fans probably won't be too forgiving about that.
Congratulations on your win last night . Only just got back from our trip to watch Wycombe. Good luck against Bournemouth. Shame we won't be there with you but our lads put up a great show and were the better side in the first half.
