Chelsea fan in peace. And if I come across as a bit patronising I can only apologise. I'd just like to say how proud I am of your progress. I speak not as a Chelsea fan, but a South-West Londoner who has grown up with a lot of Fulham fans as well. Every now and then I'd go and watch Fulham midweek as two of my dad's mates were Fulham fans and I had contacts through them. The football under Coleman and Sanchez IMO was dire, if truth be told I really didn't want to go but it was cheap so I thought why not. Since Hodgson has come in you've come on leaps and bounds. I remember going to a Fulham home game in March 07 with my Dad and we want purely because we wanted to go to Fulham one last time in the Prem before they were relegated as we had accepted it as an inevitability. That game was against Everton and Fulham won 1-0, it was actually the game that sparked your turnaround. Anyway Fulham now under Jol are lowering the average age of the squad and have some exciting young players coming though and play great football. I won't lie at times I look on with envy at someone like Dembele and Frei who we are crying out for. I genuinely believe if you improve your away record next season you will be in touching distance of top 4, makes you wonder where you'd be if you'd not had Europa League and season start in June. Only 9 points off Chelsea, ahead of Liverpool and only 10-15 points behind the likes of Newcastle, Spurs and Arsenal. Incredible
Thanks district for coming on and giving fulham credit. I really hope RDM does what the other high profile managers didn't do and bring the CL to London. If he wins it do you really think he will get the job? I really hope so I think he has been an amazing person for you. I've always like RDM when he was a player remember watching him when he was at lazio in 1995-1996.
Thanks Craven. I think if he wins it he'll get the job but as good as he has been I still am not sure whether I'd want him to get it. He deserves it no question but I'm not a fan of legends taking over as it leads to delusion i.e Liverpool with Dalglish. I think win or lose he has earnt the right to have a crack at the job though and the players have backed him as well, something they never did with AVB
Yeh I think he does deserve a chance. I agree with the legend statement but I think the change in Chelsea since RDM took over is remarkable. 2 loses out of 18 games. He has lifted you like no other manager could of done in the time he has been in charge.
Cheers District, whilst we all enjoy the banter between our two clubs, the fact that we have both demolished QPR is good for West London. It has been a magnificent season for us and I genuinely look forward to next season. Jol did not really get a chance to spend much time with the squad last summer so he must be relishing the chance to try some new players into the first team training from our impressive development squad. As for Di Matteo, what can I say. Finally you have a manager who loves you club and wants the absolute best for you. I only hope RA has the sense to stick with him. Good luck against Bayern, going to be tough they have a decent team. COYW
