What I've seen of him, which isn't much, seems a typical tough tackling defender. One on Youtube has him tackling Ronaldo knee high with a kung-fu kick down his leg. I guess the contract is due to his age and maybe wages. Not in the Czech squad to play against Scotland. Maybe he can have a word with his mate Neved and we can get him in the January sales from Juventus

If I was being critical I still think we need 1 or 2 more defenders. Losing Riise with a groin injury at left-back is a blow. Briggs can be good going forward but does he have the discipline and experience to defend properly. And injury to Briggs would leave a big hole at the moment. So maybe we should look to pick up a free agent player. Although Grygera was bought in for right-back, Luckily we kept hold of Baird who is a good utility player, but how long will he be happy if left on the bench. Kelly was almost off to Portsmouth according to reports, but since we didn't get Hutton the move was called off. Halliche didn't get a move to Swansea. Simon Davies could cover at right back too but with a knee injury is keeping him out for a while, and could cause him problems twisting and turning.
Our defenders: Hangeland Hughes Senderos Halliche Kelly Grygera Baird Briggs Burn And Riise who is injured. Duff can do a job at RB too. Seems like (quality apart) we have enough cover to last us?
