Good work by Fulham, they chased and pushed all game against a tepid, rudderless Chelsea. It's all very well to watch Palmer score a very good goal, but someone else has to put in too. We were slow, lazy, got beaten to the ball all game, and lacked fight. If I didn't know better, we looked very complacent and once in front seemed to stop trying. We were walking at the back again with absolutely nothing going through the midfield, just down the sides with Neto and Sancho being easily contained or dispossessed. We did stop pretty much everything Fulham threw at us for 60 mins or so, then looked to shut up shop, which was fatal.
No doubt Maresca will be extremely unhappy with this turgid effort which lacked energy and urgency, all just walking pace, mindless passing and then a long ball for someone to chase.
Lets hope the lesson is learned and necessary changes made. Maybe a couple of the "undropables" need dropping ??
Or are they tired from too many games ?? We had plenty of subs but only used 1. Maresca might have had a bad game as well ?
