Sitting here in the "summer" rain I was thinking that we all appear to be settled in here and it would be good to get a banner on this site, as with many other clubs here. The subject arose recently but I can't recollect where (for the younger ones here that is what we call a "senior moment"). We could use the Haynes banner/crowd - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Images/MainNews/HeadlineImages-big/Fans/FansHaynesBanner.jpg Any more ideas?
my moments are so senior that I had not noticed until you pointed it out, now thats senior. 1800 pixels wide the pic needs to be
I really like that picture but I think what Syd is saying is its not big enough. I have as my wallpaper the picture of the cottage from the river at dusk which they often use on the FFC website (I just tried to paste it here but its beyond me!) but, having looked at a few other boards Spurs have a picture of WHL on theirs and it doesn't look that great for some reason. Someone mentioned the old badge which I think would be great but des anyone have a picture of it and will someone (one of the young crowd?) be able to get the pixels in order?!
I've been dreaming a bit this damp Sunday morning as well - and senior moments made me fondly remember our great fullbacks (my current worry at the moment - another thread) Cohen, Langley and others. Ahh bliss. With them in mind, the old badge would be great and much a personal preference to the one we have now. But I do think it would be disrespectful to MO. Better to move on. What about that great Juventus night and 'Stand up if you Believe'. There are some under 'Google - Fulham images' which the youngsters might be able to paste.
Thansks Gera! I've just spent a pleasant half an hour browsing Fulham - Images. Very interesting as you get images of Fulham as well as images of Fulham so to speak. Hopefully one of the younglings will drag themselves out of bed soon (it is Sunday after all!) and can offer some insignt into the techinal issues.
I like the old badge but we have to be in the present and it might make us look like a pack of Senior Service! (If anyone remembers them).
Were they cigarettes, Rocky? I think they were mentioned in the James Bond books. I agree with what you and Cottager say about the badge. It was nice but we've moved on
Good strong ones without filters. "It's the tobacco that counts" was the motif. I can still smell them even though I haven't smoked since 1987! Lovely.
Surely there's a way of taking an image from the internet and re-formatting it to suit the size requirements? Anybody know how? If they did we could pick whatever image we want.
We just need an image big enough to manipulate. I couldn't find any on the web that are 1800 wide, so I think it'll have to be a merge job. I can have a go at doing this if nobody minds?
Feel free to shoot some ideas at me. I'm a bit of a novice at this photo editing malarky but it can't hurt to have a go. If any of the other guys are good at it then we'll get them to do it
I may be swimming against the tide of opinion here, but I still like the idea of incorporating the old badge. If we're talking about merging images, how about having the old crest on one side, the new crest on the other, and some appropriate view (the Cottage? something from the Europa run?) across the middle? As with many others, I have no technical prowess on this, and very little design nouse, so I'm happy to leave the execution of this to those who know better.
Another possible idea (if we're having trouble making photos fit) is to just have the name - check out Sunderland and QPR. Although we could have We Are Fulham in a suitably classy font and in black and white of course
