He's actually better than Long, if you're talking about goals. Longs quicker, and that's about it.

Long can also win headers and hold the ball up well; something Fryatt struggles to do. I don't think I've ever seen Fryatt win a header.

But in terms of ability and goalscoring, I'd say there's not much difference.

They'd be a good partnership IMHO.

one has scored goals in this league and performed well enough to have a number of clubs chasing him , both have scored goals in the ccc long for me is the better player but I don't think we will ever get the chance to see how fryatt performs at this level

This is ****ing nick proschwitz and altidore all over.

Score a goal or two in easy game and suddenly should lead the line.

Fryatt & Long would be the choice

but since he's spent so much on Jelavic he will play him.

Jelavic and Long are going to prove to be fantastic players for us. IF THEY GET SERVICE

Meyler, Hudd and Livermore in a midfield three don't provide this.

Drop Meyler and either Bruce or McShane and add Brady/Aluko/Boyd/Elmo to play in either of the two wide spots and we should create chances

Glad to see I'm not the only one who sees greater problems in the midfield play than that of the forwards. Need to get Brady back in the mix.

I said before we brought anyone in that I thought we actually needed a creative mid more than a striker and I stand by it.
