I think that Marko, Assaidi and Odemwingle provide our best attacking set up for 40 years. Wonderful to see the interplay and pace plus finishing power, what's not to like? Just hope MH can sign Assaidi on a permanent deal. Looks good in my opinion. Whadda you lot fink o
Nick I agree that it was good to see. And as I said elsewhere it was good to see us play with those three rather than Crouch being battered by Hangenland and others. Hughes had thought through the options well and it was how we had finished against Spurs. It does look good for next season and I hope we sign up Assaidi as well
Think he may need to have more of a guarantee of playing to sign for us, but it has demonstrated that a change is required to make the most of our chances.
Pace is the best form of attack, something that Pulis forgot when managing us - and ironically the thing that has helped him at CP. My concern is that Odemwingie is ageing and we need to add in this area, but it us great to see.
Javier Hernandez would be a great addition, but he is likely to be expensive and unlikely to want to join us He has pace and a good eye for goal and wants to leave to get regular first team footie! Our alternative might be Hooper, he is going cheap and has a good eye for goal
All 3 are absolutely fantastic, but imo if we sign Asaaidi I think he could well be one of the best players we have EVER had at stoke, the lad has it all this season has been incredible and I cant wait until hext season up the mighty mighty potters
Has Pulis suddenly realised what is required of a football club manager? Or did he know all along , but while at Stoke did his best to punish us fans for our disapproval of his methods the first time he was the boss of 'this football club' ?
He didn't build the team at Palace, he inherited a team that could play football but couldn't defend. If he had built the team they would all be nine foot four and slow as treacle.
Which is why he is looking at that striker from Brondby ( http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/crystal-palace-target-transfer-simon-2909462 ) I feel that they might not be too good next season and will skim the relegation zone due to their defending but not going forward, unless they keep up the form they are currently in. Surprisingly, Palace have won 1 more game than us but we are higher as we have drawn 11 and loss less. Good luck TP!
Agreed TH let us not damn Pulis with faint praise. Irrespective of what happened with us, there are not many managers that could have turned Palace around. Well done Pulis full stop.
I think he has been fortunate to say the least - last night being a prime example. They offered nothing for 81 minutes and had less than 35% possession and scored with a deflection! the rest was Fukin crazy.
Totally agree, he has had ridiculous luck this season. Trust me it will be the same pulis we had come hext season.
Not being anti mate. Hats off to him he has done an incredible job, but it was a win win situation - he had nothing to lose. I actually feel for Holloway, he built that team - one which would have looked considerably weaker if Tone had had the purse. What would worry me is that even with the recent games in which they have scored 3 goals (against some quality teams and away) the team is still one of the lowest scoring teams at 0.8 per game. I can't see that changing under his stewardship next term.
As long as they don't score against US next season...not bovvered. I watched our goals on MOD again this morning, I thought (perhaps with blinkered eyes) that we are one of THE fastest counter attacking teams in the league with that set up against Fulham. Somebody said it earlier on here, Assiadi should start every game
Too right mate, we have all argued that Pace is weapon that can be utilised in both attack and defence. It will also bail you out or relieve pressure when you have your backs to the wall. The difference is we have players that are forward thinking and full of skill and potential.
I am sorry guys , but the pain Pulis inflicted was so deep and so long that I just cannot have a good word said about him. So please don't. Pretty Please.
enough said kkkb, though he got us to the promised land and kept us there but after the FA Cup Final and the Europa adventure, he seemed to lose the plot and I doubt he would have been able to move us forward like Mark Hughes has done.
