"It is widely believed that magpies have a compulsive urge to steal sparkly things for their nests. But Exeter University scientists show that they are actually nervous of such objects, presumably because they are novel and may prove dangerous." Scientific explanation for why they avoid cups and trophies of all descriptions.
They are members of the crow family & therefore officially classed as vermin. They nick shiny stuff, ****e on peoples cars & chase all the nice birds away from the feeders. I love watching the sparrows, robins, blue tits & so forth but those craa ****s get right on my tits. There's thousands of the bastards round here same with the rooks, more ****ing craa family, we're plagued with those bastards. I wish I had a shotgun.
I should have put it in for our banner. Still don't know how to load the pictures direct into the comment. Sorry. There must be a button to push.
In the Alfred Hitchcock film 'the birds' it took a week to shoot the bedroom scene, Tippi hedren and the birds, and they tied live seagulls to her coat so they could not fly off !, she was exhausted and shocked afterwards and cut, so would I be after that.
Thing is with magpies is they are greedy ****ers & pick on all the little birds. I hate the twats. They get on my tits. 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy, all's I ever see is a lone ****er on his own. Even though there's loads of them you only see them singular. It's as if the dirty black & white ****s know. We are getting a red kite population growing round here & we have plenty of owls. I hope they do their job & knock the rats with feathers back.
