Nosworthy??? According to someone who has just left Vicarage Road, we have signed Nyron Nosworthy as cover for Tiny. Have we not got cover in the squad? It would make sense in light of Bennett being shipped out, but surely we should be blooding Benett, Hoban etc before getting in further players??? Perplexed. Maybe Bennett wasn't showing enough 'manliness'...... is it true?
My favourite memory of Nos was when he passed back from the half way line against Sheffield United - and nearly hit the corner flag - he will be missed for his missing.
He'll will probably do a decent job for them. Nos has been a good club man over the years and although its definitely time to move him on, I wish him all the best for the future.
While it is clear that Noz is not a top flight defender he did do a good job for us especially when playing along side Johnny Evans. At that time he was well liked for his effort and commitment if not for his skills. So if you are moving on, And I think you should, good luck Noz and thanks for all of the funny moments you gave us.
One thing that you could never criticise Nos for was lack of effort and spirit when he played. However, the fact that he has been willing to pick up his wages for doing nowt rather than move on at a lower rate of pay has somewhat soured my opinion of him...
Is that his fault though? someone gave him a contract, he has been happy to go out on loan, I am not sure I would take a pay cut to go somewhere else and do the same job. If it was the other way round and he was playing superbly well we would not want him to leave so I have some sympathy with him. He will get a free at the end of his contract and will be able to get a decent wage until he retires. He is just doing what makes business sense and I can't blame him for that. The person we should be angry with is the person who gave him such a long lucrative contract.
A player of extremely limited ability that has ended up, through playing for SAFC, a very wealthy man out of the game, when all he would have expected while at Gillingham would be a comfortable life at best. I think he was a real gentleman and an all round good bloke and is a joy to talk to at supporter functions but as a club, we took a major step backwards when he became and established first team player imo. However, unlike the Bents and Gyans of this world, he has done nothing wrong toher than not be a good ebnough footballer of course and I wish him the very best in his future. He will do a job at the top of the 1st division or mid table in the championship. All the best Nos.
Top bloke from all accounts, still the only player I've seen who has better skills than Messi. Best of luck to Nyron Baresi. He's back in January by the way I think to see out his contract.
