City have completed the signing of former Charlton Athletic midfielder Scott Wagstaff. The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Ashton Gate, having passed a medical and agreed personal terms. The deal provides a fresh start for Wagstaff, who has been with the Addicks since the age of eight. Progressing through Charltonâs youth setup, Wagstaff enjoyed loan spells at Bournemouth and Northwich Victoria early in his professional career. Having made four outings for Charlton as a Championship club, it was following their relegation to League One that Wagstaff was presented with a regular starting role. He scored four times in the Addicksâ League One title-winning campaign of 2011/12. The following year he scored in the Capital One Cup clash with Leyton Orient, before joining the League One outfit on loan. He returned to The Valley later in the year and was a substitute in their final day 4-1 win over City. After leaving Charlton in the summer, Wagstaff â a right-sided midfielder â is now excited by his new challenge at Ashton Gate.
