OK, i know it's early doors, but the news coming out of the "trust" of late is not positive. Seems the preferred take over bid is now not on the table and the only way of making a "loss making" organisation attractive to potential parties is by offering up something of value i.e. the ownership of the ground. Yes, i know talking about this is sacrilege to some, but i do fear this may be the only way to secure a league future, if not a future at all. If we dont get some serious investment we will be in a similar position to this season, but without a number of those that prospered from our youth system that will be playing higher up the league pyramid next year. So basically we lose the likes of Dunne, Scowen, possibly Ingram and Stewart. Are we really likely to be able to attract a similar level of player with no transfer budget and an equal if not smaller, wage budget? Could be a long and even tougher season ahead COYB!
I agree, looks like more dark times ahead. So many incorrect statements from the current board is worrying, they were on tv just last week telling us what an exciting time we have ahead and yet today its all doom and gloom again. I fear that this coming season will be even more of a struggle and we will simply repeat what Torquay have just done, avoid relegation on last day of the season, then finish bottom the following season.
If we wanted it easy we would all be JCL's at a top prem club I'm getting my ticket both season and Euro millions and keeping my fingers crossed
