The Chairboys face the long journey to the North East after returning to the top of the league with a fine 4-1 demolition of the Robins on their own perch and now itâs the turn of the bottom of the table Monkey Hangers who along with Tranmere sit 6pts adrift of safety. Alfie Mawson returns to partner Aaron Pierre in defence but we go into the game with injury doubts to Hogan Ephraim, Sam Wood, Danny Rowe, Aaron Holloway and Gary Doherty the capture of the exciting forward Fred on loan going straight into the squad all Chairboys will be full of optimism. This is a game we canât take lightly as anyone can beat anyone in this league, but I will be looking for us to retain our place at the top of the pack, edging closer and closer to that 50 point target
this is the sort of game we are almost guaranteed to lose - not that we are often top but ive lost count of the amount of times we have been and then gone on to lose! having said that Hartlepool are a team we seem to do well against, and ill be interested to see what role gaz sees this new player in
Hartlepool missed a penalty too - we seem to be getting all the luck with that lately! also is it my imagination or have there been a lot of penalties (for and against) in wwfc games this season?
The only disappointing aspect was Paris picking up a booking making him the 3rd member of the 4th bookings club
And in the 3rd round of The FA Cup next week would be good. Jeff Stelling was brilliant today, he even reckons they'll be in the conference next season,. Cheer up Jeff WE know miracles happen!
All the others have their bookings wiped out on November 30th so we're okay. There's another date in April when it happens again.
So no worries about suspensions for yellows unless any player reaches 10 yellows before 2nd April then
