Martin O'Neill believes Phil Bardsley can play a role in Sunderland's battle to stay in the Premier League this season

Then can someone explain why he has sat on the bench more than once this season. I believe that if your on the bench then you are fit to play.
And if your fit to play in your true position, that should take precedence over a midfielder filling in. It's ****e decisions like this that have put us in the
mire where we now find ourselves.

Gardner is a better right back than Bardsley and that's why he's been sat on the bench. We are likely to see Bardsley in the team now because Gardner needs to be moved into midfield to see if he can have an impact

This - Sorry Parker but Bardsley is a better Right Back -p Gardner is good but Bardsley is better and is a natural right back.

Gardner is a better midfielder and we need him in there - our midfield has been **** recently

Bardsley was looking a liability and would have cost us goals if he'd been playing. Its just like Jack Colback is a better left back than George McCartney even though he's a midfielder and McCartney is a 'natural' left back.

You're talking ****e again as usual.
Cast your mind back to QPR at home.
Hell of a performance wasn't it?
Bardsley was the only one to come out of that with any credit & made several crucial clearances.
We'd have been ****ed that day without him.
Granted, he's not the best at getting forward but I'd rather have him as that streak of piss Glen Johnson.
Can't defend for jack **** as he's constantly caught out of position.
Can't play on the wing as he can't cross for jack **** either.

Bardsley is the best RB at the club & totally 100% committed. If you can't see that then you're a ****ing mong.
    And BTW, I'm not sorry.

Any need to be so abusive to fellow SAFC supporters and good poster?
    Sad.

Agree Parker Bardsley looked a shadow of his former self since coming back from injury. But I do think we desperately need Gardner back in midfield as we have no one in there to drive the team forward. Think we'll have to risk Bardsley and hope his performances match his level of commitment.

I'll have pint of what you're on kidda?

Gardner is a poor full back imo as is Colback. So much of our recent weaknesses have been down the flanks and we need Rose and Bards in now.
