I started this thread on the Ipswich board but, thought you might have some fun with it too, in terms of best and worst memories of following your clubs.....

In the close season, whilst there's little current to talk of bar transfer rumours and the odd transfer fact, it's a good opportunity to share memories of things past. Often these relate to glory and memories of great successes and happy times. But, I wonder what your best & worst moments as fan of your club have been? When did you jump to the rooftops in joy and when did clasp your head in your hands in despair?

For me, I have personally enjoyed the euphoria of two wins at Wembley as an Ipswich fan. Best memory; was leaving Wembley having just beaten Arsenal 1 v 0 to win the FA cup. But, I have also been witness to departing the FA cup twice at the semi final stage - once to WHU in a replay at a snowy Stamford Bridge (Clive Thomas!) and also to Man City (Paul Power!) in extra time at Villa Park.

My worst memory was leaving Stamford Bridge in the snow that night, thoroughly dejected (Alan Taylor!) and getting in a cab with a very chirpy cockney driver who was so full of it, because he'd won a bet on an all London Final - WHU vs Fulham that year (Bobby Moore!), which by the way was 1975.

The fact that all the neutrals kept telling me the wrong team was in the final really didn't help, as the records only show us losing and West Ham as cup winners courtesy of a 2 v 0 win against Fulham (Alan Taylor again!).

    Top Trumps anyone?

Delirium has been the playoff's against Crystal Palace the Atmosphere at the Gate was about the best I have ever experienced, and the game wasn't too bad either.

Despair - It's kinda of an easy one when your City fan! but one of my worst day's was in the Early 90's we were due to play Wolves I think the first away game of the season. Nice hot sunny day, I was driving up to the ground with a car full expectant mates hoping to see a start of another eventful season. We all piled into my Lime Green Astra estate and arrived at 14:55, and that is where it all started to go seriously wrong. As we walked to the turnstiles could see there was a bit of a bargy going on. Mates jumped in one Que I another, They got in fine and I just get to the booth.. and Bang the Shutter slammed down! Tried to go to another one all closed. The days of no mobile phones. So There I was stuck in the middle Wolverhampton wearing my City Colors and no coat cause no hint of rain. Tried to go back to the car to listen on the radio after being pretty hacked off driving all the way up and being the only one not to get in. Told by nice Policeman that the area I was parked in was not available to Away fans during the game!! and told to comeback later. Walk into the city center, sat in McDonald's and just made it out alive. Walked back to the ground just before end of the game. Asked another nice policeman, way back he explained only way back was through all the Wolves fans leaving the game, then said oh.. you lost 2 nil as well, Good luck. Made it back to the car in piece just, after a ton of (goodhearted??)abuse. Mates took the piss when they returned to the car and only stopped once I started to drive off without them!!
On way back some silly tart knocked into the back of my motor. Got a puncture.

Oh and 2 weeks later speeding ticket arrived on the mat!!! thought I got back a bit quick.. Beat that one for absolute despair....
