City love spreads to Eastern Europe. please log in to view this image Read more at http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/2...ovSmUsIuEtU.99 Days of the City name only being spoken within the local catchment area are very much a thing of the past, as proved by exiled supporter John Nutt. A lifelong City fan, Nutt is still a season ticket holder despite living 2,500 miles away in Belarus. Now coaching a school football team in the city of Rogachev, he has created a league for kids to test themselves in a competitive environment for the first time â and has his own side taking to the field in the same red and white also sported by his heroes, under the name Rogachev Bristol City. Nutt got in touch with the Ashton Gate hierarchy last year, and soon received a set of 20 full kits from the Robinsâ commercial director Kevin Smith as reward for his generous support of the Bristol City Community Trust. Currently top of their division, the Eastern European youngsters are now in with a chance of playing at Rogachevâs marquee stadium in the final against the winners of their rival league on Sunday, May 26th. City supporter liaison David Lloyd said: âJohn was a familiar and colourful character in the Atyeo Stand for many years. âItâs great to see him take his enthusiasm and love for Bristol City all the way to Belarus, and we wish his young team the very best of luck every time they take to the field.â Great story, great fan, great support, well done Rogachev Bristol City...
I thought I was mad coming back to Ashton Gate half a dozen times a season. So it's nice to find that there is a bigger NUTT than me; has a season ticket while living in Belarus. Well done John Nutt and a big thanks for spreading the gospel according to Bristol City to your neighbours.
Ah Jonny Nutt - my weekend playing career finished early (due to injury) so I used to have to suffer Mr Nutt bellowing in my ear on the touchline most Sunday mornings whilst managing The Beehive and The Bourne End quite a few years ago.... Had a chat with him in the Atyeo when he was back a few months ago, he is doing great things over there...
