Is MArtin Jol really the completely uninspirin, tactically inept, and bloody stupid man that currently me and many fulham fans think he is?

Not at all. MJ will have a go, his teams are exciting to watch. He'll win some and lose some but at least he will try and win. Many of us were sad to see him go. It could be worse, you could have Juande Ramos!

Fulham fans don't deserve Martin Jol or any good manager for that matter.

Hughes played dour bore draw football for the first half of the season but if you want genuinly entertaining football then you need Jol and you need to give him time. He's not in danger of getting you relegated and you're in touching distance of 10th(which would surely be your target?) so shut up and be patient, probably.

Well I'm going against the grain here, I think he does have tactical limitations. The 5th place finishes was more the players we had, than managerial prowess imo. Yeah he picked the team, but some of his substitutions were baffling, giving up winning positions to draws and last minute losses as a result. The dodgy lasagne should never have been an issue that season, 4th should've been sewn up.

I honestly don't understand what Fulham fans are expecting from him, to be honest.
The Europa League campaign starting very early has obviously cost you a little in the league, so your current position is perfectly understandable.

Give the man a chance, let him get his own team in there and then judge him.
At least he's trying to get you playing some decent football.

When Jol was in charge, more often than not we were bailed out by Keane and Berbatov than any of his tactical decisions - and he allowed the team to become K&B plus nine, which became a real problem when the pair of them were tapped-up and moved on.

He'd be a great #2, and he might be a good coach within the Spanish system at a Sevilla or Villarreal, but he isn't the manager for a work in process or a team at the wrong end of the table.

I was at Carrow Road yesterday, and I thought the way you dominated the first half was very impressive. His transfer dealings also seem to be more 'hit' than 'miss' which is a good sign. I think you need a new 'Danny Murphy' - someone to lead the team, help the youngsters and make sure you don't concede late equalisers like you did against Odense and Norwich.

Berbatov and Keane haven't set the World alight since, I think it's a bit of a stretch to put it all on the Keane/Berbatove partnership. We did have a weak team though and Jol got us, as Notso mentioned, one game from CL football.

An attack of the lasagna's against City would've killed our chances of getting 4th in 2010 too and that was a better team than Jol ever had. I'm not saying Jol is better than 'Arry but he faced a lot of difficulties.

Rafa Benitez got a weak Liverpool team into the Champion's League repeatedly, including two finals, whilst Jol didn't manage to get us there once.

Obviously they weren't that weak comparitively if they got to two finals winning one. Unless Rafa was a managerial genius.

i never forget when we were winning 3-1 in the FA cup quater against Chelsea and Mourinhio threw on all the attacking players....Jol didnt have a reply..and we drew 3-3..that match stuck with me for his lack of tactical know how..however having said that just like Deedub said he will win more than he will lose...good at motivating no doubt but not a great tactition..lacks the bite required to be at a top 6 club for me..but a mid table club he will keep there comfortably....now tell me what does Fulham FC expect to achieve? CL football? Europa league?

    ps hahahah city are cracking

Given they couldn't win a single trophy without a penalty shootout, I wouldn't go that far...

Not really - in 2005 they had the weakest group (and finished second) and a straightforward Last 16 match, plus fluke results against Juve and Chelsea to get there (plus Milan self-destructed following Gerrard's illegally won penalty in the final, as well as Dudek's lack of sportsmanship in the shoot-out itself), whilst in 2007 against they had a weak group, a fluke result over Barca, an straightforward Quarter Final, a penalty shoot-out against the Chavs in the semis, and were shown up in the final.

Benitez may have understood how to reach the final of a knock-out competition, but didn't figure out how to win the final in 90 or 120 minutes.

  15. As far as Im concerned, our undercover agent Jol is doing a marvellous job.....

    Fulham 2-2 Man City
    Arsenal 1-1 Fulham
    Fulham 1-0 Liverpool
    Chelsea 1-1 Fulham

That's one heck of a favour from our favourite bald man!

    Oh, and lest I forget:

    Fulham 1-3 Tottenham

Once a Yid, always a Yid.
He's got no hair, we don't care
    Martin Martin Jol.

I never forget that game either. Lennon played in the hole behind the striker and tore Chelsea apart. Tactical <ok> In the second half Chelsea took control as our players were exhausted after playing Braga away and only having a morning of training in Portugal and half a day in England to prepare for Cheslea.
