hope you don’t mind a Swindon fan coming onto your site, but I really envy you having got Di Canio as your new coach. He came to us two years ago when we were rock bottom and raised the whole club, staff, players, fans and town to highs that had for many never been experienced before. Ignore all the stuff about his politics; if it exists we never saw it. What we did see was a man of passion, a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, a man who is a hard task master who believes in supreme fitness and will train his players for seven days a week if needs be. A man who works into the small hours watching videos of the opposing team so as to prepare his players for the next match.

Certainly you will be heading for a roller coaster of a ride as he speaks his mind and pulls no punches, if a player gets it wrong or does not pull his weight he will let them know about it and the rest of the world whilst about it. If a player does not have his heart fully in playing for your club, then they are out, no matter who they are, reputations mean nothing. You will find a man who recognises how important fans are and will wait until every player has acknowledged the fans and left the field before coming out to salute you.

You will have people who say they will stop going to matches because he has arrived, that though is their choice and to be honest they will be the losers. The pundits will give you a load of waffle, but the only ones who can tell you what great times lay ahead of you are us Swindon fans who have had the Di Canio experience. Just enjoy it.

Cheers Davros...All we can do is back the man to the best of our ability to give him the best chance possible...Let's face it, the whole club, especially the players and supporters, are in dire need of a bomb up our proverbial backsides at the moment..

Managing lads on 300 quid a week is very different to ones on 30000 a week though. If he brings that style of management here the players might just say **** off to him and what can he do then?

I think the modern game is **** when players get paid whatever the performances and results but that's what we have to work with.

Di Canio will either work or this will collapse around our feet. Inspired or foolhardy. We shall soon see I guess.

Cest if players are **** and not putting in a shift then I for one hope he says what he thinks because the last manager obviously didn't. It might actually shock them. players have it far too easy. if they dont like it they can **** off.... happy days... Also he might actually select more than one player and give other a change to prove their worth. Something MON never did.

I am excited about the appointment. I read DiCanios book about 10 years ago, its an excellent read and gives a great insight into a man who has come from nothing. He is a fan like the rest of us, the reason he has fallen out with people in the past is that they did not do things properly or they lied to him.

I think at leasy we will see some fire and some attacking football.

Its a smart move by Short. DiCanio is our best chance of staying up but If we do go down he is a good choice for the championship.

Great sentiment and one all of us will agree on mate. Unfortunately this is the real world of modern football not what we want.

If he starts slagging them off in public or going off on one, they could just tell him to **** off and not play for him.

How do we then put out a team? They can't be moved on and we obviously have no money for new players which is why we have employed a cheap option.

This squad is what Di Canio will have to work with, so if he pisses them off he's screwed and so are we.

hope he does give them a rocket, most of them were bought at great expense to improve the club not just feather their own comfortable nests inmo its time for them to knuckle down and get cracking.

Personally Cest I think Marty had given up and this showed when the players started against Man U. Not a clue or a plan on how they were going to play this match.

PD will not allow this.. There are a few players that have been having a free ride of late and these will be singled out whether its in the dressing room or public but one thing is for sure, players will not get a free ride with him and he will not be scared to change things which Marty never did..... And will use more than 15 players in a season.
