I'v just posted on our forum, regarding matters concerning both our forums and the constant bashing of each other, but mainly is response to the "Why we don't want Cardiff in the PL".

    This is what I wrote:

Can this just be ****ing dropped?

I am sick and tired of logging onto this forum, to speak with fans of my football club, to have to sift through thread's that have no goddam relevance to my club.

Swansea are Welsh. Cardiff are Welsh. There is rivalry of course, that's football, but this pure ****ing hatred is sad, pathetic and low.

I want Cardiff in the PL. Actually, I would love Cardiff in the PL. Two Welsh sides in the best league in the world. A small minority of fans won't stop me wishing they would join us!!!!

Hopefully a few of our fans, and yours may listen.

    Good evening JackAsh. <ok>

I have to say that I have more than just a little sympathy for your point of view. As you say, the rivalry between our two clubs is part of football, but we seem to have taken it to the point where we are obsessed with the other club. Yes, the element of hatred is ridiculous in what is supposed to be a civilised society and to some, it is a residue of the 70's, 80's and 90's when both clubs has an element of "supporters" that was hell bent on bringing disrepute onto the clubs they claimed to support.

As far as this message board is concerned, I agree that it is not that inviting when just about every thread descends into nonsense caused by wind ups from either side of the divide. I know that banter is an important part of rivalry, but when the same old nonsense ruins so many threads.....well you can see what I mean.

I know that I'm a bit of a dinosaur in this respect, but like you, I'm a Welshman who likes to see all our clubs doing well. When I was a kid, my dad would take me to the Vetch if the Bluebirds were playing too far away. On top of that, it's worth remembering how many Jacks have played for Cardiff City and how a Cardiff lad once took Swansea to the top of the top flight.

I was devastated when Swansea made it to the Prem before we did, but I certainly hope they continue to represent Wales in such a positive manner. Yes, let's have the good humoured banter, but lets have respect for our fellow welshman and those that support our respective clubs.

Incidentally JackAsh, lovely part of the world you are living in. I used to go camping at a place called Forest Fields which was about halfway between Builth and Llandrindod, and i used to go into "Llandod" quite frequently.

Anyway, enjoy your footie fella. <ok>

Clingo, thankyou for a well thought out response. With regards to your dinosaur comment, age doesn't matter here and everyone's opinions count. I used to enjoy reading about the goings on at the club and other fans opinions, but it's gone beyond now. There's digs everywhere, and while I like a bit of banter and a laugh, none of it is funny any more.

P.s. I know the campsite. I am a Mechanic and regularly go there as the campsite owner is a very good customer of ours, so if anybody needs a little help, she refers us.

Same goes for you. Never stop enjoying the footie, even if it is WW3 on here.

Ash - You're dead right about some of the crap that's being posted in the name of banter - the word has lost it's true meaning for some.

As for the article on your board to which you refer, I think the poster concerned has lost it big time from the contributor he was earlier on here and before on the Beeb 606.

Don't know why, perhaps he's just got caught up in the **** being flung rather than distancing himself and encouraging moderation as his status would suggest he should.

I've always been up for a bit of banter on both boards as most will attest, but I haven't posted on the Swansea forum at all this season other than on cross-board threads. It's become a waste of time trying to have a genuine laugh betweeen us - it all too easily descends into stupid personal spats.

musty, technically yes but every time I've done the Fishguard - Rosslaire ferry crossing I've never seen anybody on the Irish side and occasionally some old bloke sat at Fishguard. Never done the Dublin-Holyhead crossing so can't comment. Airports are different I guess but they wont let me take the car on a plane so I don't bother :D

There is a way you can have fans 'bashing' each other and it's what we had to resort to between Norwich & Ipswich.

Open a thread on one board only but have a link from the other board to it - Call it a banter thread and have the mods from both sides agree the tolerance levels. Those who do not want to join in or read do not have to - sorted <ok>

Wish I went in to the Cardiff home page before I wrote that! You have already started a banter thread <laugh>

The biggest problem I find from the Swansea Board is the Moderators.

You got one who stays in the dark and deletes post without any reason given.
Another who as you show in your post is a big part of the problem
And the 3rd, who I thought was fair but is slipping into the Swansea way with anti Cardiff posts.

    Hear Hear. <applause><applause>

I will say though that there are certain obsessives on both sides that make me cringe when they start their slanging nonsense.

alot of this comes from clowns like dragonphiljack, who despite being a moderator, is probably the most childish member of your board and recently posted a thread saying that cardiff would be an embarrasment to wales if they got promoted <ok>

In the good old days, serious wumming happened a couple of times a year if the club were in the same division or met in the Welsh cup, with banners seen and chants heard every other saturday on the terraces.

With the advent of the interweb, this can happen 24/7. Great that we can chat, a pain that we can't get away from the drivle.

I enjoy a bit of banter, but would like some serious threads as well.

As with Clingo, gutted that the Swans got there first, in fact jealous of any theam that pips us too it. Wouldn't seem so bad if we were ate the other end of the table. We'll keep on knocking at the door and one day it will be our turn.

As for location Ash, quite jealous of that as well. I spend a lot of time around Rhayader fishing the Elan Valley and the Wye down towards Llanwrthwl. I also go to the Royal Welsh at Llanelwedd every year. A wonderful part of the world.

Elan Valley is a fabulous place. Glad there's folks such as yourself taking advantage and visiting, because living in the area, we don't realise what we have.

Agree with most of what's already been said, I to was almost suicidal when you reached the promised land lol, at first I'll be honest I thought you would end up as canon fodder and was relishing the thought but as things have progressed it's become obvious that you're very capable of holding your own, now my thinking goes more along the side of you are a Welsh team doing ok in the premiership and I don't want to see you hammered at least not by anyone else bar us lol.
We stay at the Royal Welsh for 2-3 weeks every year with our dogs, fabulous area, my wife keeps looking in the estate agents in Builth High St, maybe one day. By the way we've been going for so long the local curry house delivers to our caravan lol

Just to prove my point, there was a thread on the Swansea/Cardiff board called "Soccer in Swansea, Rugby in Cardiff"

It was put on by a Swansea Mod and could only be moved by a Swansea Mod.

Guess what, it's been taken off the Cardiff board and put on the "ligue 1" board.

    How sad is that?
