Good Morning one and all, Its Friday hooray....... And today is the first day in my new role as Area Manager Warnock insists that the squad at Leeds United is in better shape than at any stage of the Championship term, admitting: âI wish the season was starting now.â With 17 games left, and a potential 51 points up for grabs maybe the season is not over quite yet. It looks increasingly likely that two from three will go up between Cardiff, Leicester and Hull. I feel sorry for the team that does not make the automatics, and has to rely on the lottery that is the play offs. Who do we think deserves to go up to the promised land? Wolverhampton Wanderers play host to Leeds United at Molineux on Saturday afternoon, and hold the advantage on previous meetings between the two. Of the 44 games played, Wolves have recorded 20 wins, and Leeds United have come away with 12 victories. We beed to come away with a victory tomorrow if we have any chances whatsoever of reaching the play offs... It would be nice if there was a match thread put up today in preperation for tomorrows game, who fancies it? Warnock is due to have talks with Everton boss Dave Moyes over the weekend about extending Ross Berkleys loan til the end of the season. The 19 yo youngster is due back at Goodison Park after Tuesdays game v Boro. Former Hull City and Derby County chairman Adam Pearson has said he would like to "get back into football," with Leeds United a favoured destination. The ex-Leeds director and current owner of rugby league side Hull FC has been out of football since leaving a role with the Tigers in April. He told Yorkshire Business Insider: "I will definitely get back into football. I would like to go in with a consortium with a club that has huge potential. "The one that stands out is Leeds." Could this be further investment in the transfer kitty in the Summer?
Morning all. The Pearson thing is no surprise at all, and now Bates is in the background and shortly out on his ear, Pearson could be a good move. This bloke has had a bad press, but you have to give him his due. He did a great job for us when he was a director under Ridsdale, and wasn't anything to do with our demise. He left Leeds before everything exploded, and went over to Hull where he picked them up and sorted them out, as well as getting the KP stadium deal done. he left them in a good position to be sold on. He did a good job at Derby after the previous regime stole the parachute payment cash and left them in a stronger position. I would welcome him back as he understands what needs to be done and is Leeds fan too. I think he may be tempted to get into bed with GFH this summer, along with another investor, and would think he would be handed a board position as long as Bates is gone. He would be good for GFH as he knows football, and Harvey is just a glove puppet from Geoffrey Richmond days, who Bates uses as a condom. I'm glad Warnock is now saying we have a good squad and wishes the season were just starting. That says he thinks we will now be competitive for the rest of the season. So come on Neil, lets not drop any more stupid points and see how long we can go without losing
Morning doc, morning all Doc, I think he has some money tied up in Hull at the moment, so could be a confilct of interest there, so maybe it wont happen as quick as some would like. I would welcome him back to be honest and agree with your points. He stood up to Risdale when he could see what was going wrong with our books & quite rightly left his position & as a business man I cant blame him. Congrats BTW Elland, do they give you a company house?
Is Adam Pearson the rich fan that GFH asked to borrow £800k from? http://sulia.com/channel/soccer/f/4758b46e-3aed-4e0c-9855-7765b000b47e/?source=twitter They must be well skint if they can't cough up that much
There are still plenty of people circling football clubs, and UK based with overseas contacts/investors. harris is still circling Pompy and been rejected by the FL because his bid is too late. Paladini also knocking about on the fringes of the Birmingham set up. These people know that there is potential with some clubs, and the most potential is Leeds Utd, so I imagine GFH will have no problems attracting new cash into the club, its just a case of how much of the club they're willing to sell. Sell at some stage they will as long as they see a return on their original investment, but they could also be willing to stay in for the long term if they can attract a cash rich investor, who would sit in the background and watch their investment value grow. Not sure Pearson has enough personal wealth alone to do this. I see GFH as a caretaker manager right now, but this is preferable to having Bates running us into the ground
Warnock is bound to say we have a stronger squad nowotherwise it would be admitting that we are not good enough for the playoffs and thus losing the fans
I'd take promotion on any terms but realistically this squad isn't good enough to go up. Going up would also probably prolong Warnock's stay as manager, which would not be good. Also, if we went up I'd miss our bi-annual love in with the Wallies
Anyone off to Blackpool game on the 20th? I'm trying to fit work in around that date so I can attend & I will be bang up for a few beers before/after
Its a mid week one mate, but even a quick 10 mins catch up at ER would be good if your up for it? As soon as I can confirm i'm going I will ask pags if she fancies a meet up again
In the ground is fine, I get a lift to Elland Road and that dictates what time I arrive and leave mate. Where you gonna be sitting?
An old lady has called Tesco customer service to ask if her risotto had any gorilla DNA in it. The matter was quickly resolved when the assistant explained that the photo on the box was Ainsley Harriot.
