Morning All, Kisnorbo's gone, only on a months loan, but its a start. Is this the begining of Leeds clearing out the dead wood. The question that must be on everyones must be, is YWBK gonna change his nickname, if so, what would be suitable for him??? Birmingham are the visitors to Elland Road tomorrow in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Blues boss Lee Clark may have to field a number of reserve and youth team players in the game with the injury list at St Andrews continuing to grow.Stephen Carr, Hayden Mullins, Peter Lovenkrands, Marlon King, Darren Ambrose, David Murphy, Paul Caddis, Akwasi Asante, Papa Bouba Diop, Emmitt Delfouneso and Keith Fahey are all out through injury. They will also be without Robert Hall for the game after the on loan winger was denied permission to play by his parent club West Ham. Apparantly we can expect at least one transfer today, though we shouldn't get too excited. The transfer of Stoke midfielder Michael Tonge should be completed in time for him to play tomorrow, with the prospect of a second signing shortly afterwards. Did our exploits in the league cup effect our league performance? Should we just be concentrating on getting into the play offs?
Morning Elland. I mentioned somewhile ago about YWBK & the need for a name change. Hopefully Kissa will show us what we've been missing & join Tate in a reinforced CB pairing. Until Lees learns to stay on his feet, stop diving in, & keep his hands off attackers in the penalty area, we are not going to improve. Think our biggest problem for the Brum match is having 11 players fit enough to take the field. Seems as though there is a bug doing the rounds. I think our league cup form just helped to build confidence. We were beaten by a better side in the end. But those that played must have learned something from the experience. So a few positives. On other outgoings, hopefully we can palm Connelly off on someone, as well as finally letting go of our main striking threat..... Barndoor Billy!!! Shame, but it just didn't work out for him at Leeds.
Morning all so what are the priorities this season ...... promotion, so don't give a toss about the cup. Warnock should field an experimental side and see if there's any mileage with some of the unused or hardly used squad. We're not strong with a quality squad, so don't want injuries from a cup match where we know we're not going to progress to the end. Would also be nice to beat the pants off brum and make Clarke look silly, and doing it with a mix of development team and dead wood, would be ace. As for You'll never beat Kisnorbo, how about "You'll never be Kisnorbo, but your just as ugly" Port Vale re-signed Birchill, and seem to be beefing up for a promotion push in a big way. Makes me wonder if there's any mileage in the rumors about Tom Pope? I think it would be a gamble even though he's the top scorer in the UK at the minute, or the new Jordan Rhodes. He couldn't hit a barn door last season, but is on fire this term, but Rhodes managed to be prolific in L1 and is still scoring for a poor Blackburn in the championship, so guess he'll probably make it. Pope is in L2 so a big step up for him, but if you compare him to Somma, do you think Somma would be able to score over 23 goals in half a season down in L2?
Morning all. Weve probably got the makings of a full team that needs shifting off the books. Warnock should field the lot of them tomorrow. A bit of exposure might encourage some division3 clubs to move for them as thats probably their standard. Hard to sell anything that nobody knows about or is ever seen
Morning All, How's about 'You Will Miss Kisnorbo'? I know Kissa will! Brum game - I can see the point of playing Developers/Reserves, but at the end of the day, this is an easy tie on paper, and whilst it's not a priority for us, the potential revenue from perhaps drawing a big team in the next round should not be ignored. Money talks, and we need to do some talking in the transfer window!
Morning all, would like to see a win tomorrow, if we can't beat a B'Ham side with that many injuries then it will be pretty poor. Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of the younger players get a chance, or even the likes of Pugh to enable him to be in the shop window.
OS is telling us that another 2 players have gone down with the virus & a load more have been told not to report for training! Might end up having to play the backroom staff at this rate! http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20130104/virus-decimates-camp_2247585_3030290
Don't laugh, but the way things are going with this virus, I can see Barnddoor Billy being recalled from his loan spell.
I really hate to be the one to break this to you mate, but Paynter went on a free transfer last August!
How did that happen? Whick fool sanctioned that??? Heyho, we'll have to rely on Varney getting off his sickbed to save us from a fate worse than death.... losing to a half fit Brum 2nd XI. Alternatively, we could always play Somma & Ross with Hall providing the bullets. Not so bad then.
With Warnock away, might there be a chance for us to play some exciting and skillful football on Saturday? Good luck to Kissa. With his contract ending this summer it'll be a chance for him to get fit and put himself in the shop window. The only shop window Danny Pugh should be seen in is a horse butcher's.
