This afternoon a behind closed doors friendly.... anyone know of any trialist at the minute that will be playing?
maybe a game against TWS @ ferriby would be better idea and charge fans £5 to get in during the next international break.
Whats the point of behind closed doors? To stop the expectation of on looking fans and the game turning a bit dirty etc. or because they can't be arsed to sort out a venue so they can play on a training pitch for free? Or a bit of both
both i would suggest. plus no stewards or police needed or officiials for that matter. just 2 teams having a kick about. lol
HT: City 1 Grimsby 1 - Danny Emerton scored the Tigers' equaliser to cancel out an early Mariners penalty Latest Score: City 2 (Sonny Bradley) Grimsby Town 2 McShane, Harper and Adebola all playing today according to Phil Buckingham.
I wonder when Emo is gonna be given a chance, he is the next nick barmby I can promise you that! He works tirelessly through the game, small and like lightening. Played with him 3 years ago for Beverley Grammar School, in the words of Ray Wilkins 'My Word'
I'm surprised Emerton hasn't made the first team yet, I've seen him in several pre-seasons and several reserve games and he's been good in pretty much all of them. He's definitely better than Atkinson, possibly a better all-rounder than Devitt and he can play on the wing or upfront, I think he should have had more of a look in by now.
He's the only source of goals for the reserves as well by the sounds of things, he's well quick is Emo!
We all do, but as I said previously, we are simply treating him as we do all of our promising youngsters: letting him rot until he's 21/22 and all of his potential has gone, then sending him to a third-rate League Two club to warm their bench.
Full team - Oxley, East, McShane(Gabbiadini 64), Bradley, Townsend, Dillon (Margetts 78), Harper, Holohan, Mainwaring, Emerton, Adebola. http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2472376,00.html?
^^ Is that the same Dillon that was on trial last month? Thought we weren't going to pursue him any further.
from the two games i ve seen him play, kieron dillon looks a great prospect. reminds me of a very very young dave batty
It is the very same, he's played most of our reserve games recently. He's only a youth player, so Nige is not considering him for the first team, but it seems there's a chance he will get a deal of some sort.
