This is our last pre-season game....and I doubt if Rooney has any idea what his strongest eleven is.....I feel pre-season has been a little messy....22 players every match...never an obvious starting eleven on the pitch at the same time.

Even if Rooney thinks he knows the best eleven....he has never given them 5 minutes together on the pitch.....how can players gel with each other under those circumstances.

Either Rooney is a genius or he is a chump and will be gone come the new year.

Maybe Whittaker and Cooper will be gone soon....if so will that release money to buy some genuine Championship players and give the team a more solid backbone....at the moment the season might be harder than last year to stay up.

Rooney says he does have a good idea what his team will be. He also says he believes Cooper and Whittaker will remain. He can hardly be worse than Ian Foster but I agree, it's quite likely we'll have some nervous moments.

Here we go again. Season not even started but the knocking has. Either players not up to much or Rooney is pants and hasn't a clue. Typical Argo and if I may say typical Pasoti views also. There are some on there who really shouldn't bother and should find another sport to follow. If I was that depressive about everything I think I might find some rope and a tree.

Hardie comes on as a sub and scores almost immediately.

Argyle were better in the second half it seems although the goal came from the ball bouncing off Hardie into the net. There were other good chances though, including two that hit the woodwork I think.

    Now it gets real…….

Worrying that our only goal was a ricochet off a keepers clearance....but give credit Hardie got there.

Hardie has scored regularly during pre-season....but doesn't generally start games.....I don't know if there is anything to be read into that fact.

Rooney spoke about that and how he wants a high press. Scoring scruffy ones like that is always a possibility with a high press so it's not entirely an accident even if it looks like one. We did hit the woodwork twice.

It's a bold move playing high up the field against much more expensive squads than our own, Let's hope we don't get caught out too often.
