Gomes and Cudicini clearly are competition for most keepers.
Guzan and Marshall really aren't.

Bearing in mind Given's injury problems, if he were to miss some games and his replacement played well in the meantime, then he might struggle to regain his place.
With Guzan and Marshall as his back-up, that's far less likely, in my opinion.

I can't see him struggling at Spurs. Despite all Harry's fine words, Gomes is obviously on his way out. Cuducini is nothing more than O.k. IMO. Certainly not half the keeper that he was.
Guzan and Marshall I'd never even heard of TBH.

Marshall is a former Norwich city legend who's 37/38 now (who used to live in my old house :D) and Brad Guzan is a young American lad, was on loan at Hull for a bit last season I think.

Whilst I agree that Friedel is the solid goalkeeper we've needed since...oh I don't know, Erik Thorstvedt played for us, we do need a long-term keeper at some point.

We keep being linked to a host of young keepers - today it's Udinese's Zeljko Brkic (so if any Udinese/Siena/Vojvodina fans can give us any info...), a few weeks ago it was Eldin Jakupovic (before he was snapped up by Aris FC) - but surely at some point we'd need a keeper who cna go straight into the team, and stay there for a long time?

On the subject of Erik Thorstvedt, his daughter Charlotte isn't bad is she?
