Now we are a premiership team we can expect a lot of our games not to be played on a traditional saturday afternoon at 3pm. there will be some odd times and days due to Sky's television rights, personally i dont mind but what do other jacks think about this....
We might benefit in that Swansea is a long trek for most teams, so they´ll probably want to play as many games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons as possible.
I don't mind. I work every Saturday, so the more non-Saturday matches we can have the better for me (that's me being very selfish there)! Even if I can't make it back to Swansea to watch the game (probably going to struggle to get tickets this year), at least I'll be able to scream some support from the comfort of my home, or down the pub! Hate being in work when we're playing, especially if we're on the box at the same time!
yes but we all know what sky says we have to obey, its well worth the money but there is something about 3pm on a saturday that is to me football and it will take getting use to playing on a Monday evening.......ill cope though....
Would prefer weekend games. I find I get too distacted in college to do any work if I know theres a game on in the evening.
We've had several Saturday games changed over in recent years mostly because of the rugby but personally prefer the tradtional 3 o'clock Saturday kick offs.
There is something about that kickoff time of 3PM on a Saturday. I think it's because you know all over the UK millions of people are in the same position as you, going through similar emotions to you, you know that at 3PM there is going to be a roar of fans at stadiums all over the UK, you know that 3PM on a Saturday is Football time! That sums it up for me but the extra money is something we can't say no too, so I suppose we'll have to get used to it!
I hope there is not too much away from Saturday afternoon, as Sunday I travel with the Reds youth, so definitly won't be happy with too many Sunday games, though Monday is fine by me, seem to remember Wigan having, a lot of fixtures on monday!................. please log in to view this image
Can't see any games switched because of rugby this is after all the Premier League and we will have to bow to the powers to be, the FA and Sky. Its the Ospreys that should be panicking, what if we are scheduled for a Saturday game at home that's switched to the sunday and they are due to be playing then ? Who takes precedence, I can't see the FA and Sky standing for any nonsense. We will play whenever we are told to and that's the bottom line.
Have heard rumours that the Ospreys will be playing more games at the Brewery Field,Bridgend next season and coupled with the fact we have 4 less home games anyway I dont see there being any problems with fixture clashes. We also hold all the financial aces now so what we say goes I guess
I doubt Swans will be on Sky much, so most matches won't be moved. Does anyone know how many times Blackpool matches were shown on Sky last season. That should give you some idea. But will also depend on how we do. If we're top, we'll get shown more often.
I think that there is a minimum of each team being on Sky at least ten times. That`s for both home and away i.e. it could be eight away & two home. Blackpool were on ten times & ManYoo were on twenty four times last season. I stand to be corrected if wrong, I don`t have sky so could very well be wrong!
I didn't realise that so many matches would be on Sky. That's over 25% of matches that could be moved. Swans v Wigan is almost bound to one of them.
Reading some other teams fans opinions on potential Sky coverage of the first round of fixtures, and quite a few reckon the Man City v Swans match may be a plumb tie as it pitches the big spenders v newbies , one of the title favourites v relegation favourites, big names v no names etc ,etc. If this is the case a great opportunity to showcase our talents on the big stage!
