A few news reports are circulating that the likes of Cook and Mowatt should have appeared for the U21's - I am glad they never, we need them fit and firing for the start of the new season and the last thing we want is more rumours circulating about their futures. I know it is the Sun newspaper but they are suggesting we are battling it out with Watford for the signature of one Joey Barton - They suggest Watford are the favourites to land him as Barton would have more chance of PL football with them. With an addition of Barton how much would our odds for promotion improve? Yes Barton divides fans as did Diouff, I believe just like Diouff Barton would win over those who have concerns about him. Cook and Taylor have both spoken out positively about Rosler and how they are looking forward to working with him, Taylor having just returned from a holiday with Byram and Mowatt expressing how the dressing room has a "tight group of lads" is this what some of our loan signings had a problem with last season? Pre Season starts on Monday, what are the chances of us securing another signing today or tomorrow? morning Ristac, morning those joining. On one level, I agree entirely that Mowatt & Co should have gone to the Under 21 tournament. However, if the Manager had taken our first team of unders including Oxlade C & the others, Mowatt wouldn't have needed to go in the first place. That Mowatt & Co will at least ensure them a decent off season break. So not all bad. On incomers, I really hope we get a couple more. Can't see it happening, but I'd love to see Barton joining us. But can't see it happening

Morning Boggers, I would love to see Barton playing for us next season, I am quite happy with the defence and if we did get Liam Moore on a season long loan it would be the icing on the cake at the back although I do feel we need another reserve keeper, maybe we will use the loan window for that? I agree in regards to the U21's but if I were the club manager of some of our better players I would be glad that they were not taken. Maybe it is time for the U21 format to be changed, lower the age maybe? There are too many U21 players now that are good enough for the main team.
Agree entirely that Rosler will be pleased that our kids didn't go. Maybe next time. But they've had a hard season & we need to get back to the PL. So anything that helps us has to be a good idea. Even more so given that Wilshere wasn't picked and certainly should have gone.
