I think 7.15 Ascot Discussiontofollow 10/1 is a Pattern Class horse in the making and over a straight 6f in what is likely to be a race run at a really decent clip he could devour this lot. He put up one of the most visually impressive performances of the season when he won by the cheekiest of necks with Shane Kelly not even breathing on him from Absolutely So (also an improving horse who has since won well off a 9lb higher mark) and I don't think he handled Windsor when beaten 1L last time off a 10lb higher mark of 86 and I thought he did very well to finish so close. Raised a further 2lb higher mark to a mark of 88, I'm bloody bullish that this horse has a big future and hopefully he can come out on top in this big field handicap sprint.
Busy working! Struggling to juggle the balance of it and looking into the horses. Going to try a lot harder to get it a finer balance though!
Bob who do you like Ormonde? Surley the trip will be to quick for Brown Panther and Hillstar always seems to be the bridesmaid never the bride! Nd Mount Athos will surely be aimed at the Melbourne Cup so will be building up to that
Not really looked Wooly. Of the three, Mount Athos will have this as his early target I suppose because of Koukash. I'd probably just back that. What did you think?
A few for you all to avoid from me tomorrow: 1:45 Chester - Big Johnny D 13/2 3:05 Lingfield - Djinni 10/1 7:25 Nottingham - Docofthebay 11/1 7:50 Ascot - Sir Robert Cheval 6/1 8:05 Cork - Mr Eko no price
I have just noticed that I have not seen one Hannon runner or Richard Hughes ridden horse at Chester, do they actively avoid the place or is it just simply circumstantial to these last few day? Very odd for such a huge yard to have not one runner when such big pots are up for grabs.
Looking at it more and more, I keep going back to Brown Panther, not a big fan of the horse but does have talent, goes well fresh- winning his first 2 runs last year including the Goodwood Cup, wont mind the ground as he has won a couple of times on softish ground and altho he hasn't been since the Melbourne Cup and is closely matched with Mount Athos on ratings- I feel it will be who runs well the best fresh- not whos the most talented- which will be Brown Panther
Good Man, know how you feel- month in to my new job and im travelling all around the place!! but you need to the balance right!! We cant be having that! Just shirt your work off for a little bit, I spend my time looking at it in service stations with my overpriced cups of coffee
Pintura in to 7s now im on Glee had a poor Chester but this is his best chance before he scoots to Notts for a hat ful of rides
