Racing comes from Ayr, Dundalk, Leicester, Sandown and Wolverhampton

    3.10 Ayr

    Dark Glacier 16/1

Brief (because I’m watching the toon game) overview of why this one is overpriced tomorrow imho.
Go back to 5th of Nov 2011. First run of the season (and over hurdles), probably needs it, runs like a drain on good ground. Next up wins on Good-soft ground and wins well against reasonable enough opposition. Next run finishes 3rd on Good-soft finishing ahead of the talented Rival D’Estruval (receiving 6lbs). Finishes close behind South Leinster giving away a stone and the talented Nuts N Bolts who was also receiving weight. Both of whom are now on a higher mark than Dark Glacier. Dark Glacier runs a stinker on heavy ground next time out before confirming the form with Rival D’Estruval (admittedly receiving 4lbs) when beating the now 143+ rated chaser by 2L on good ground. His next run was a poor looking 5th of 8 on soft ground. Dig a little deeper and you will see Ambion Wood battered the field by 15L with some smart types in and around Dark Glacier, with Golden Call and Talkonthestreet (rated 139 that day) no more than 3 ½ lengths in front of Dark Glacier on levels. The other horse to finish in front was Midnight Minx, receiving her fillies allowance who ran a length in front of Dark Glacier. She is now rated in the 130s as well. This season Dark Glacier has gone chasing and has had 4 runs, all on heavy ground, which I’m convinced he hates. Runs off of 125 tomorrow over hurdles but, more crucially, on good to soft ground. I think this will bring a turn around in fortunes.

Good luck George. I've never been a fan of backing horses on their first run back from chasing but he looks on a reasonable enough mark. I'm quite interested in the one at the foot of the handicap in Nodda High Kid. Beat Brindisi Breeze on debut in a bumper and his 3 runs over hurdles to date have been not too bad (never beaten more than 20L). Should appreciate better ground and step up in trip on handicap debut. 102 doesn't look all that harsh and only carries 9-9 when taking Callum Whillans claim into account. Could have a decent chance at 14s.

George, I sincerely hope that Dark Glacier hasnt met Midnight Minx over hurdles yet as that would mean she is not qualified to win this weekends Mares bumper at Sandown. I think perhaps you are confusing her with the much less talented Miss Milborne.
You make a decent case but one would have to say the form has hardly progressed. Good luck to you even though I am with one of the others at a fancy price in the form of TRUCKING ALONG 20-1. Ran a blinder under similar conditions when thrashing Mr Moonstone by a cosy seven lengths this year. He fell last time out when beaten, that was for Caroline Bailey but he has since returned to Seanie Crawford. Two factors that make me keen on him today are the presence of Timmy Murphy back in the saddle and the handicapper dropping him 4 lbs. I am confident 121 is well within his scope. they have waited for decent ground, although he won his novice on heavy and I think Timmy will get a great tune out of him again. I think the yard will be keen for him to run well on his return.

LOL sorry the second half had started. Miss Milbourne no mug though and is indeed rated the one I was looking at and is 130s so the point is still valid.

Don't know RV, I think all the horses price enhanced last year got turned over so could be a lucky escape! Knew they'd offer Oscar Whisky at some point- still far from certain to stay in my book and could well end up out of the frame.

10,000 folks stuck bets on so far.

Liability around £200,000- thought it would be worse!

Surely if the ground keeps drying it will go in his favour- but it is intresting that Pipe has decidedto run GC back over the smaller fences!

I see Indian Pipe Dream has finally escaped from the Sadik yard and is now hunter-chasing for Miss V. Collins. I wish the old boy well after enduring what can only be described as a "difficult" period with the Turkish twister. Gwanako will likely have too much for him today but it would be nice to see him jump with enthusiasm and put in a clear round <ok>

GGW, Stick, I'm against you with Everaard 7/1

Impressive win over a similar distance at Carlisle 10 days ago and although this is a step up in grade he is 3lb well in under the penalty he got for hosing up by 13 lengths last time out.

As it is so close to the Festival I won't be investing a lot and will be playing eway.

    Good luck all!!
