Anyone who listens to the podcast will know we have one running for us today in the form of Robbie McNamara's Tenth Amendment in the 7f maiden at Galway. Best of luck to Robbie. Hope he sluices up.
Opened 11/1. Ploughed in each way. Forgot to say the draw is perfect. Stall one is a godsend round Galway.
Skybet are money back if your horse finishes 2nd/3rd in the first at Goodwood; max £25 in an eight runner race seems like a decent offer.Any forum members have any strong fancies in this one
My Goodwood Selections: 2:00 - Mount Logan 11/4 2:35 - Buratino 14/1 3:10 - Franklin D 11/4 Win & Azraff 11/1 EW reverse forecast 3:45 - Muthmir 7/1 4:20 - Zanjar 11/1 At Galway in the 6:15 a speculative punt on Harangue 33/1 ew
3-3 at Goodwood including a decent 1m2f then had a good run in the Hardewick when 4th to two very good horses in Dartmouth and King George winner Highland Reel , which proves he is knocking on the door of being a decent group 2 horse this a step back in class where as a lot of the field are taking a step up , he has course form which is very important here and will be hard to beat
Thikriyaat looks banker material in 2.35 based on his run in the Jersey Stakes.11/4 looks a decent price and should be very hard to beat.
Nothing hugely imaginative from me tomorrow; FRANKLIN D 3.10 11/4 TOP SCORE 4.20 5/1 SIXTIES GROOVE 7/1
Athletic 7 35 Newmarket. Stone below when it won over c&d last year and Josephine takes over. Can't see anything but a win 8/1 R/fc with Ivory's Varsovian
FRANCISCAN 10/1 Bangor 4.30 Interesting money for this runner tomorrow. Has looked out of form in his last six runs and has been dropped a monster 36lbs, 22lbs over his last two poor efforts on soft and heavy going. Crucially for me he now gets his ground, Back to back wins in 2014 included a win at Cheltenham in a boys race off 130. Tomorrow he races off 103. If anywhere near a shadow of his former self he would hose up under these conditions. BEN CEE PEE M also runs at Bangor tomorrow. He is well treated on his best form.
That Ben Cee Pee M is Brian Hughes' only ride at Bangor tomorrow too. Long way to go for a hack round. I'm sure the horse was tipped up here lto. 16/1 has to be worth a dabble ew. Lucky 31 at Goodwood and Galway Mount Logan and Franklin D both 11/4 at Goodwood Baby Jake @ 16s (won off a higher mark on this side of the water lto and the claimer rode a blinder in the big hurdle race today so value for the 5lb allowance) Tenth Amendment @ 8s. A massive sponge but I can't ignore the 20s into 8s with Bet365. Waaheb @ 6s. Rated much higher over hurdles and has put in some decent efforts over fences. Weld the trainer and I like Mark Walsh on JP horses. Good luck all.
3.10 - following Team Bell after Big O today. If Big O was a certainty not sure what that makes Franklin D and cant believe the price....... 5.45 - Delegating ew but also covering Tenth Amendment - was given a very positive mention by McNamara earlier in the week. 7.25 -Ivan G has to be backed and couldnt believe 9/4 8.00 - Dalton Highway - plot job - bookies took a chance opening at 9/2 and unsurprisingly that didnt last long and have no doubt this will be winning fairly comforably having shown absolutely nothing.
Anybody following my tips for their Placepot got burned in the first with Scarlet Dragon beaten less than a length in fourth. The O’Blarney betting bandwagon suffered a setback with the plunge on Intelligence Cross staying in the bookies’ satchels as Mehmas floored hotpot Blue Point. Not much prospect of finding a decent bet on Friday’s card. The race formerly known as the Golden Mile ought to go to the handicap snip Franklin D, so I will give that a miss. When Marsha pipped Easton Angel at York, I was on the latter but any easing of the ground may not favour either of them and three year olds have a poor recent record in the King George. There does not look to be anything glorious about the Glorious Stakes as I can find reasons not to touch any of the seven, although I think Frankie might try to steal this from the front on Ayrad (but not enough to gamble he tries!). The second seems to be a simple case of do you believe that Emotionless still retains the ability of his rating? He is easy money if he does. In what used to be the Oak Tree Stakes, the two French fillies are an unknown (trainer won it last year at 33/1) but the ratings clearly point to either Falmouth Stakes third Always Smile or Pouliches fourth Besharah. Having done my money on William Haggas’ filly twice already this year, I will probably watch her come home at a generous SP now she tries a new trip of seven furlongs.
One bet for me today - Kings Fete, 2pm. Thought he would have won comfortably last time with a clear passage. Should be hard to beat in this I would have thought.
Will sponge a few for today as I know all will win and will do these for Goodwood: MOUNT LOGAN THIKRIYAAT FRANKLIN D EASTON ANGEL NAAFER BESHARAH
15:30 Thirsk - Wernotfamusanymore (Was 11/2 best price when I punted this on the new Virtual Betting Shop thread earlier on, now 3/1 is best you can get. Bit of a chance if he really does go well fresh? Trainer Kevin Ryan gives the ride to experienced South African jockey Keagan Latham).
Probably nothing to get excited about but I see Mr Hannon is sending 2 up north to Thirsk, seems a long way to go so I'm on the double. I can remember about 12 months ago he sent 3 to Redcar which was a first in a very long time if ever and all 3 won. 2.20 LEXINGTON SKY 7/2 4.05 COULSTY 5/2
