Sharney Sike -4 20 Perth --10/1 --cracking price for this proven performer , the horse that he finished ahead of last time won yesterday, (sun cloud)-bold front runner from a stable in blinding form, youre sure to get a run for your money !
Good morning guys. Loving the site. I have a question. Does anyone know of a site/app that will send me an alert/message when a horse that I follow is due to run? Obviously I would have to put said horse(s) into the site or app beforehand. One of my old favourites due to run tomorrow at Haydock and it was only because of a friend that I found out. Prince of Johanne btw. Thank you in advance. Good luck to all
As Sir Barney Chuckles rarely posts at the weekend I am looking forward to reading his heartfelt farewell to AP McCoy on today's thread. I am expecting a eulogy that will put Alastair Down in the shade
Couple of e/w fancies at Donny for me today. Think there is a slight bias favouring high drawn horses which these are. 4.35 PENNY DREADFUL 16/1 2.50 SUBVERSIVE 8/1 1.20 KING OF EDEN 16/1
Morning All. Today's lucky 15. All @ Sandown Park. 2-00.Cannock Chase. 2-30.Bow Creek. 3-35.Waady. 4-10.Moonlight Sonata. Good luck to all.
What? The forum's favourite saddle monkey? He won't have a bad word said about THAT man! He say's he is the Real McCoy and there will never be another with even half the talent of THAT man. If only "Magic Hands" Henderson had been able to sign him up as full time jockey, he would have been champion trainer for the past 20 years., 20 years I say! Or something like that? Shall we have a Sandown Competition?
Gordon Richards Stakes, 2.00 Sandown is an interesting race. Tullius has been competitive at the highest level over the last couple of seasons. He'll need to ;prove he stays 1m2f but if he does he's value imo at 9/2 (Stan James, B365 currently) to finish in front of a couple of progressive sorts from the Cumani and Stoute stables. Both of those make their seasonal debuts and might need the run. That's the theory anyway.
Tullius is the class horse in that race Archers and when I saw he was 4-1 yesterday I was amazed. But then you look deeper and see there is stamina to prove, and for me, the ground could be an issue. He has been campaigned almost exclusively over a mile - his two single outings over 9f resulted in a win and an unplaced, but if connections were so sure that a mile was "his" trip all this time, why the switch now? And although he has won on good, the greater majority of his best form is on a softer surface. That said .... 9-2 is a definite tempter. Hmmm should I? Shouldn't I? Sod it I will! Further - Stan James also offer money back as a free bet if your horse finishes second in any channel Four race. Nuff said
Really does seem to have an excellent chance in this race. Right now it's forecast at around 12/1, but with the McCoy factor, I would expect it to be less tomorrow, say around 6/1 SP?
2 others that I quite look the like of away from Donny are: 2.30 San CUSTOM CUT 2.40 Per ROBINS COMMAND
1 for me today is Western Hymm, 10f looks to be his best trip and has also had his knackers chopped off during the winter. Looks a pretty good price in a small field.
Today’s televised card at Sandown is desperately disappointing with three Pattern races where half the runners can be eliminated simply because of the quick ground. Last year’s Classic Trial winner Western Hymn is known to prefer some cut so is easily overlooked in the Gordon Richards, as is miler Tullius and the outsider Ayrad. With no guarantee of any pace, this looks like a case of which of Postponed and Cannock Chase has the best turn of foot on the climb to the post. Given the latter’s trainer has a good record in the race, preference is for him over the Great Voltigeur winner dropping in trip; but only to small stakes. There must be some reason that Tullius is not defending his title in the Mile, other than the Group 2 penalty. The three carrying the penalty are closely matched but with ground concerns about Here Comes When, Custom Cut would be preferred to possible pacesetter Bow Creek. However, Shifting Power gets into the race unpenalised and his Group 1 placings in Ireland and France last term are the best form on offer, so he can win first time out as he did in 2014. With just four going to post in the Classic Trial and no guarantee of how the race will be run it is hard to get enthusiastic about last week’s Newmarket winner Cape Clear Island or favourite Commemorative, who must be well regarded to have run in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile to end last year. With the news that Found is no certainty to run in the 1000 Guineas, punters with any other runner in mind might be well advised to take the odds before this Saturday morning as her removal from the betting would see everything else contract considerably. I note this morning that the bookies have already shortened the prices on all the other leading contenders. Sandown 2:00 Cannock Chase 2:30 Shifting Power
Two shorties for me today Donny 4.00-Signore Piccolo Won at Ripon last week & stable has started season well.Should hopefully go well at 5/2 Kilbeggan 6.45-Binowagh Bay 10/3 Ran well enough lto to take a weak race like this
Strange racing at Sandown asQM says. In fact the last is probably a better Classic Trial than the named one. Fancy Stoute for this one, although which one. Suppose it has to be Stravagante. A race he likes and has run classic winners in it, though the two I remember didn't win,
