Good morning all... Well it would be if i didnt feel like a bag of spanners full of a head cold and runny nose...!!! Snow, cold, miserable and no racing make the days decision to have a bet easy choice, nowt doin...!!! Shame really as its my Birthday today, 41, and i feel like ****e...!!! It all means i can save my pennies for the weekends racing, but i look ahead and we are 2 cards down already. Its not the best of starts to the weekend but things can only get better...
Morning, all. Why, I say why, is it that a couple of inches, or so, of snow and the country grinds to a halt?!? It truly is absolutely astounding! Nothing for me today although one for next week, weather permitting, could be Zuider Zee. Formerly with old boy Gosden he’s now with John Ferguson for an NH career and has entries in novice hurdles next Tuesday and Wednesday. Potentially looks a high class recruit. Happy birthday, Red, old boy.
morning all MANY HAPPY RETURNS REDCGULL get yourself a hot totty and a couple of parrots eat them all? good luck all today and lets hope it's a bit quieter than yesterday
All the very best on your birthday red - feeling like crap and no racing? Get pissed seems the only viable option mate
Any of you modern youthful people out there monitoring the "twitter-waves" for news on the snow situation at Ascot? Or anyone living close by who can give us an update? The weekend will be well and truly ****ed if Ascot is off .................
Oddy, they may be hardy souls, across the county line, in Royal Berkshire but if Ascot is on tomorrow then I’ll eat my hat and everyone else’s hat as well.
ROTO did a wee write up on him a couple of weeks ago, seems convinced he'll be aimed at the Coral Cup again. I think he's around 33/1 for that contest. McCain is working furiously to get his mark down he was a very close 2nd to Sir Des Champs in the Martin pipe off 140 and won the Coral Cup off 135 last year. Currently rated 137, maybe another tailed-off effort before Cheltenham
Cheers lads... Oddy that drinking suggestion may well be the way forward today... or with some Irish whiskey in it... Sir Barney, we have leaves that can stop trains, snow that stops all transport, water droughts that dont bring on hose pipe bans, a deluge of rain that then brings on hose pipe bans. When the sun dos come out we are told to stay in, when its freezing told to get out and warm up.... We truly live in a very messed up country... Though no amount of tarpaulin will save the race tracks at the mo... as Wooly posted earlier, its only 53 days to go...!!!
