Very nice day and profitable visit to Chepstow. I must say I didn’t see as much of the preliminaries as I’d normally like but some brief notes/talking points -

1st race - nod to Timeform here, they had the winner very high in their ratings. Poor race and pretty bunches up at the finish. Interesting from prelims was how varied the field looked, a few were very small and others didn’t look great in themselves. It reminds me that parade viewing can inform of negatives and positives.

2nd race we saw a few very nice horses, the JP/Hendo horse is very talented and will come on for the run whilst he was probably flattered by the winner being in front for quite a way and also setting a difficult test when taking on Truckin Away from a long way out. The front four were all taking horses and all can be followed for sure. Ganache was the negative in the parade ring, and needs time and experience to be seen to his potential. The Blake horse didn’t look great and was obviously out for an education.

Third race, experience told and a taking win by SS. The second caught the eye under an educational ride and Fergal will get a good few wins from him in time. Fontsanta goes in the notebook, travelled well and blew up on the final section of race. He was carrying a penalty, was weak in market and keen enough early on. Will be a nice handicapper.

Fourth race I got horribly wrong, well I think jumping won the day and also lost it for my selection. It was an intriguing race and the winner had it sown up comfortably in the end.

Fifth race... handicap blot!!! That early season mares race that Posh Totty won looked good at the time and I think this franked the form! Annie Mc is a 130+ horse and still looked to have improvement in her. She paid for the day and then some. Shout out to Tara Flow too, who did plenty wrong but still ran very well for in form Venetia.

Last race... should have left before it, but great to see a win for the yard.

The contact from the Hendo yard sent 5 today. 3 won at 7/4, 15/8 and 15/2.
I will start to put them one the days i get them and can get online.
I dont back them myself as i only bet when i can watch a race, i.e. big meets and weekend.
