well,i would rather say,he was more unlucky than ungenuine, because he did everything right apart from winning, and another master class ride by noel fehily.had him well positioned throughout the race,so you cant blame him.
I'd agree. The commentary suggested that Cogry wanted it more but I felt they both went to the line as game as you like and SFP is just one unlucky loser.......again.

Sorry Oddy. Just spotted your birthday on FB. Have another happy birthday

I will go ungenuine, he doesn’t pick up when asked under pressure and is the horse that needs everything to fall into place and like today, even when it does, he needs to be delivered on the line.

He’s not won in last 9 races and finished shd, shd, hd, and four length seconds in four of them! Such a frustrating horse because he’s got so much potential, but he doesn’t show it enough.

A few years ago we would have called him a puff / tart / etc. not politically correct these days so „ungenuine” must suffice.

Nature vs nurture and all that

Wine talking <laugh>

Interestingly Rock The Kasbah is a very similar horse in the parade ring, proper on his toes, revved up and both for me have application issues!

He was very disappointing today but I thought it might have been a bit quick after his last run. Let him rest up and maybe aim him at the old Racing Post Chase at Kempton in February?

Think he’s just a really in and out horse, he throws in some awful runs and then looks a resolute stayer in others. I’d just keep running him in staying handicaps and hope he turns up in form to one of the big ones!
