I have always agreed with the late and much missed Oldest on our military, inasmuch as I have the greatest admiration for all of them. They are despatched to the most god-forsaken places on this planet, no questions asked, it's their job, even if the oft stupid politicans have ****-up. They are all heroes. To take the piss out of them e.g. "the marching and saluting brigade" goes too far IMHO. One could hardly rely on Sir Barney Chuckles and his gang of baronial malcontents to defend us in an emergency, at least I wouldn't think so, but life is full of surprises I guess. Sorry, what little sense of humour I might have does not stretch as far as taking the mickey out of our armed forces, no way. If SBC is offended by the presence of our military he should piss-off pronto to his country-of-origin, which is? Frankly, I've no idea, but it's somewhere where they call Boxing Day..........St. Stephen's Day? Rant over.
