Taken from the Cardiff City online message board.

    The French youngsters we signed

Brian Martin (yes he is French ) - Keeper
Yannis Drais - Jay Bothroyd lookalike striker
Kevin Sainte Luce - Winger, who's expected to be superb and be in the first team squad by the end of the season

    Old news I'm afraid...
The post you refer too, including the comment about being "in the first team squad by the end of the season" is from last summer...Wed, 11 August 2010 12:21 to be exact.

I Googled Yannis Drais this morning and that post was the first result...

Reason i put up thread waqs because read below.
    Q.
That interview and clips of training is in full on CCFC player and it's definately not Bothroyd (he didn't fall over once). Not sure who it is (whether I should is a different matter) but I remember Proph saying in a different thread they were taking some trialists with them.
    A.
I think it's Yannis Drais but I could be wrong, a French youngster if my memory serves me well.

These two(amongst several others) comments were made yesterday NOT last summer so was just trying bring some clarity for the guys discussing the subject.

Wasn't John Lewis our full back from the late 70s from Fluer de Lys?

Yep, old news but here's an update:
Brian Martin is no longer on the books and has returned to France.
Yannis is pretty damn quick, as is Nat Jarvis who has just graduated from the Academy: Kevin Saint-Luce is even quicker (the quickest at the club from Academy up to first team, unless Bellamy returns, and even then it would be a damn close run thing).
Would be good to see a few of the youngsters given a run out at Oxford. Who knows, they might make the grade?

I'm (almost) sure Drais is in Spain.
No idea about the other two mentioned but if Martin is off the books like iggy says, I guess he isn't.

interesting snippet of info Iggy. Good to see the accademy are being treated in the same way as the first team. Not as glamorous as Spain, but sends out a positive message and gives them good experience.

TGI I was trying to bring some humour to the thread, I know a Brian Martin personally and wouldn't want him anywhere near the CCS let alone in goals
