Dunno if any of you give 2 ****es, but as a self confessed football nerd, i'm tuned in to Toulouse v Montpellier live at the minute.

Montpellier, famous old club, but have NEVER won Ligue 1, they are top, and with 4 games left, have a golden opportunity to do it.

9mins in, the match has gone off at lightning pace, making a mocker of the 'French football is defensive' line, 'Pellier are one up through Belhanda, a supremely talented Moroccan, think Taarabt with consistency and better attitude, and are pounding at Toulouse (another famous club that has NEVER won a title) trying to wrap it up early!

Cracking entertainement, and an opportunity, if you fancy, to watch some really fantastic talents (who we could look at...) in Belhanda, the outstanding Oliver Giroud, and a smashing left back, Henry Bedimo-Nsame.

    Better than ****ing Emmerdale...

    Ha ha.

To answer your pun question seriously, i'd love 'Pellier to win the title, and give a firm **** you to PSG and there millions!

I also had a brief fling with a lass from Montpellier a few years back, and I remember her fondly, whether she gives 2 ****s about football was never discussed..

    Ha ha.

Actually, straight after this is struggling giants Marseille away to relegation threatened Lorient.

The fact I have a treble on Montpellier, Rosenborg & Marseille means i'll be doubling up on my frog soccer!

    Ha ha.

He'd be a smashing Sess replacement, if we needed one.

    Bellender, nice.

In terms of French football I tend to favour OGC Nice, either that Or leans towards Stade Rennais.

(The puns are getting a bit tenuous now.)

Lived and worked in Toulouse [ Airbus A380 ] As a support engineer, love the place, football ground is miles from anywhere. Watched Toulous v Leon, worst game of my life, dire, left just after half time and walked back to St Cyprian, ****in mile after mile in the rain, and the biggest downside with Froggy football, you can only buy alcohol free beers in the grounds. ****in barbaric. Saw my arse and walked to my local, got a real beer and watched better football highlights, than anything Id seen live that night.

Fantastic use of the word barbaric to describe the lack of booze Bill, if ever a word was used in it's finest context, this was the moment!

I'm going to Lyon for my year abroad at University next year, and I'm definitely keen to get to some Olympique Lyonnais games. Haven't really followed French footy much in recent years but always enjoy it whenever it's on. MONsMush, with your impressive knowledge of European footy, which players should I be looking out for at OL?

Surely he'll be more likely to return to PSG than move to OL? I get your point though.

They've had an up & down season Lyon, but they have some cracking players.

There's the obvious, Gourcuff, Gomis & Micel Bastos, a player they have who I love is Lisandro Lopez, but I think he'll move in the summer (sadly, out of our price & wage bracket...)

They have Anthony Revelierre at right back, I think he's one of the best in Europe, but the lad never has got his full credit.

3 potentially excellent young forwards, who are at different stages of progress, Alex Lacazette is a boxey little striker/winger with a good touch, he's not progressed as well as thought, but may well come good, similar story is Yanis Tafer, looked class in the youth tournaments, but has wobbled a bit at senior level.

Final one is Ishak Belfodil, only seen him for half an hour, but he's a big lad and ran his socks off, looks like he could develop, he might be in the first team picture, at least off the bench, next season.

Cheers for that mate. I've always liked the look of Lopez whenever I've seen him, could definitely see him being a success in the Premiership. Hopefully I won't be seeing Sess there in PSG colours...

I have a sad feeling you will mate...

If they remain in Ligue 1, players to watch from oppo, Remy, Ayew & Valbuena (Marseille), Belhanda, Giroud (Montpellier), Payet, Hazard, Roux (Lille), Marvin Martin (Sochaux, but he will be elsewhere, they are going down....), the list goes on mate!

It's pretty defensive though, lowest scoring of the big leagues by a distance.

Yep, but it wouldn't happen anyway, apparently Arsene wants him, and frankly, he is perfect for Arsenal.

    Nice to daydream though.

Some quality players on that list, very much looking forward to getting down there now! Have you ever been to a live French game mate? I think I can handle a few 0-0s, kind of haven't had the choice being an SAFC fan of late...

Nice & PSG, they were about 3000 at Nice, not many more at PSG!

I'd love to take in a Marseille or Rennes game, they are 'proper' fans.

Lyon seems a bit reserved, from TV only! Nice stadium mind.
